So I'm remaking The Pit from Halo 3 for the Forgotten Treasures contest, and I've run into an issue that I feel would be better solved with some opinions from you guys. One of the many things Halo 4 neglected to carry over from previous Halo games were the power-ups (Overshield, Camo, Custom) and The Pit is well known for it's Camo hallway in the center and the Overshield hallway below the sword area. Now, I want to remake the map to be as close as possible, so I feel like I should throw down something in these two hallways, but I'm not sure what. Any suggestions?
For the overshield, you can place an inital drop where the original was with a resupply timer. To replace the camo, you could do the same with the AA camo, or a seperate powerup like damage/speed boost.
not sure if you will get deducted for this but I'd suggest doing mlg weapon placements, so get rid of camo, move rocks to green, and put an initial drop for OS.
Don't do MLG. Everyone does MLG. Just use an ordnance drop with either camo ability, or like damage boost like that other user said.
But on a serious note, why not just use ordinance drops for the overshield, and possibly the invisibility AA.
I don't think an invis AA would work very well b/c people could just obviously spawn with it. I like the idea of speed boost.
Same dude. Anyway... My main issue was whether I should just put an AA down or do the ordinance drop. It's going to be annoying for the Overshield tunnel if I do the ordinance drop though.
I'd say there is a good reason for that. Haha. Those suggestions are a understandable change but wouldn't you want the map to play well? Damage boost would be okay. Camo AA would be pointless because most people would just choose camo if they wanted it. Plus Rockets in green and removing camo all together definitely plays better. It encourages people to spread out at the start of a match and eliminates the the possibility of getting both in the case that people to spread out. And sword in sword is also a flaw the main weapon set gave. All together for gameplay reason MLG would be the most logical choice.
always ordnance drop stuff. particularly when placing AA's. They all look the same and are hard to see.
If your doing a Team Based Game, you need to balance it by locating the overshield in map neutral position and just ordnance drop a damage boost for one team and a speed boost for the other team. That is how you need to do it. If you feel like that is too much, then just drop the overshield...
