So, I made myself some retina resolution wallpapers over the weekend, let me know what you think. lol, hipster image host the only one that allowed me to upload 2880x1800 images without compression :\
Those are some pretty snazzy effects. Yes, I just said snazzy nbd. But if you combined the first image's left region with the second image's right region... well that would blow my mind. As for criticism: The effects are a bit.. simple for teh UNSC symbols. Overlay/85% transparency with a highlight? The UNSC symbol in the second one seems very out of place and on top of the image instead of embedded with it. I like the tile effects.. and the images fit well with the theme /my two cents
would it be considered spam if I choose now to reply :\ Anyway, thanks fro the comment, yeah, the UNSC logo in the second one kinda bothered me, it is actually composed of 3 parts, one for the body, one for a shadow, and one for the highlights I might try swapping the grids, but I chose the boarder patterns to accent the images, so I might have to start over :\
As he said ^ Try to engrave the text within the pattern you have. Also, retina resolution doesn't mean anything, as the retina display on apple products isn't anything but a marketing term, and a lie at that.
how do I do an engraving?, I'm using gimp also, I used "retina resolution" because it sounds a helluva lot better than 2880x1800 resolution wallpapers. P.S. no OS wars, please [br][/br]Edited by merge: went ahead and swapped the backgrounds
