Has anyone figured out the best way to simulate space from reach. Player trait zone? but at what setting? I was thinking of trying to remake Condemned but haven't actually started yet. I want to make sure a fairly decent space replication is possible. I figure there is no way to 'mute' gameplay sounds so the main goal is getting the loftiness and float right. Since the game has been out for 2 weeks I assume that someone would have figured it out by now. Thanks in advance
I was actually working on this last night for a project that everyone will hate! Gravity volumes just aren't enough. So you need a trait zone set right. Player gravity at 50%, player jump height at 125% and player movement speed at 90%. While this isn't perfect, its pretty close.
You can also add visual effects for when you're in the trait zone. I think they have one for damage boost, one for overshield, one for flood and one for speedboost. So when you're inside the trait zone it will show the visual effect of those powerups on your HUD but it won't actually give you the powerup. It's pretty cool, but I don't know if any of them have a mute effect.
Ah I didn't think about gravity volumes I was just trying to use player trait zone. I had player gravity at 50%, player jump height at 125% and tested that a bit but switching the player movement to 90% was where I was missing out. That would probably make it feel a little better. As for a visual effect for the trait zone I suppose that would work for some sort of stimulus and would be better than nothing especially since mute is unavailable.
Anything but the Flood effect -- it turned the screen yellowish..and that'd just be odd in space haha
