so build a floor out of colosseum walls, save it, reload it, and this is what you get... no matter what i try, these are the floors i'm gonna have to live with. utter fail...
bump glitch, it's not that new. used to be able to fix it in reach, but with the removal of fine tuning in H4, you're kinda screwed.
I mentioned this to Shoe and Mock last night while in session: Thruster pack can be used to force yourself through one-way shield doors. The specific tactic is Sprint ---> Jump ---> Thrust when you hit the shield. Also, Thruster Pack CAN be used to reset fall damage IF used at the appropriate height.
This glitch does not happen at all for me unless I am in forge with someone, in which case only one of use sees it. However, as long as the person who does not see the bump saves the map it will not be there when you load it back up. Mock and I have done this several times, confirmed fix. So 2 keys: Don't let anyone in while you are forging (save, end game, take them in, then end the game, reload the map and start forging again) or make sure the person who saves a new version of the map (save as) is the person for whom nothing is crooked. I've been doing this and I've been avoiding the glitch.
so i start up blank map, lay down a dozen pieces perfectly, all by myself, room is set to invite only. i did this to see if high object count might cause the glitch and nope... even with just the 12 pieces in a lonely room, still happens...
i found that, while this isn't efficient, just saving as a new map causes non of the glitches(1 degree yaw offset, bump glitch, etc.) to happen, i had someone join my forge session on a racetrack and had to do this, and it turned out fine when i went back it.
There's some inconsistencies here. But I think that's a new bug in H4. I've NEVER, EVER gotten the lighting glitch on any map. And I've replicated the exact circumstances some have described. Do you guys think it could be a hardware thing? I'm running a Gen1 Elite model.
im running xbox slim 250. just restarted my xbox and did the test again (on impact) laid down a colosseum wall, flipped it 90, went into coordinance just to get it snapped into that grid, turned on magnets, and duplicated 8 more pieces around the initial. save as new (called the map "stupid") and reloaded it back up just to find the same glitch... oh and my lighting crashed at around 4500 budget
Yeah, the glitch is something to do with connection... Have you ever had a game where you start it on your own, (obviously having host) then someone joins, and when they leave you black screen connecting to a new host (without it ever migrating)? It seems strange, I think it could be like a live host migration thing that causes some glitches to kick in. Regardless, I always save as new map as I enter the game, and even when I've forged on my own I've had glitches occur; like the yaw shift. To fix the yaw shift, save, quit, re-enter the map with the shifted pieces, re-coordinate the map without a rotation lock by manually tilting the yaw coordinate back to the nearest 45 degree turn and then save as new map and quit. Reload the game again, and the pieces no longer shift or tilt. The only piece exceptions I've found are block 4x4 talks and 4x4 corner platforms.
Just looking at the pic and reading your post, this looks like the same problem we see in Reach. it looks like all the pieces rotated in a clock wise fashion with the exact same error.
