How do you spawn a rock falling from the sky?

How can you make a rock spawn in the air/sky falling to the ground right away?

I'm like 85% I already know how to do this and just forgot. I have a really cool idea I'm messing with for my first serious map, and need a rock to fall from the air to make it work.

Ah! That's what I was thinking. I kept thinking rocks set to normal wouldn't move. Ugh. I was going to use gravity volumes to float a few rocks over my map. It works in forge and looks really good. Of course the problem is they don't move after they actually spawn of course lol.

Wait. Rocks on normal aren't affected by gravity volumes? :( After reading your post I imagined rocks spawning and being shot out by grav zones, cannon style :p Would have been an interesting minigame..

Is there any way to force an update of an object? Perhaps have another normal object hit it?

I don't think another object hitting a rock will make it move.

I set 3 rocks to normal physics, set to spawn in/just above gravity volumes. The thing is, when rocks spawn they don't go by "Normal" physics and fall. They just stay fixed where they spawn, as if they were set to "Fixed" physics. And I don't think they will "update" and move because something else hits them. Objects that will do that will do it just from being shot, and I shot the rocks some, but nothing changed.

Back in Halo 3 I made lots of maps with objects set to spawn and fall, but didn't mess with that type of thing much in my Reach maps really. I was thinking by now there might have been a way to get rocks to fall but it seems there still isn't a way to do that.

But vehicles, some scenery objects (pallets, chairs, cones, etc., NOT large crates, etc.), and toys are effected by gravity volumes. They will spawn falling but float around because of the gravity volumes.

So I'm probably going to put either a kill ball or banshee floating around on my map, or maybe just some small scenery objects to look kind of like debris.

Actually, I'm going to check some of the dominion visual objects like wires. If those will float on gravity volumes it would look sick with my map! ...If they're visible up in the air though lol.

rocks are part of the structure list and cannot be movable once they have spawned.

The only movable items are in the scenery section

Well not all scenery moves, so I was hoping by now either forge allowed rocks to follow "normal" physics not just fixed in the actual game, or that people knew a way around it now.

I'm checking dominion objects set to normal right now. I hope they work, there are some good looking ones for floating debris type stuff!

Edit: And they don't work like I figured lol.
