Hey everyone, Just knuckled down and got Halo 4; decided to migrate from Reach finally. I'll be honest, I really wanted to play Halo 4 because of Forge and hence why I'm here. I've been directed here from the Waypoint because they said you guys might be a solution to a problem that has plagued me since Reach. Let me explain. Ideally in these new Halo games with this new KICK ASS forge, I would like a way to have Forge Matchmaking....WAIT, not like what people are traditionally thinking in matchmaking to create maps...no, I agree that's a terrible idea. What I mean is matchmaking with gathered people (like a Slayer deathmatch), and random select/vote on forge maps already uploaded by the people within the lobby for play. In the end, the players could vote on the quality of the map to either advance the map to the official playlists, or to let it die a slow painful death. Saddly, it seems this option (or something similar) will never be implemented and thus had no reason to really make forge maps because it was hard enough getting them played. I couldn't find an avenue of people/a community that would really be willing to play Slayer (or the like) on a group of people's custom maps, or even people to help review the created map to see what they liked or didn't like. It felt like hours of put in for a nice map, only to BE lost in oblivion. I don't just want to forge for myself. I would like to forge maps that I can play on with people too....and yeah I don't think anyone has enough "friends" for that kind of effort or the talent or skill in literally DRAGGING people you find from a finished matchmade game just to play...and even then you're lucky if you can manage a 2v2. What I'm hoping out of this group is not only to find and receive reviews and exposure for the maps I create, but to also have a credible avenue to find people to play our maps on. I want to play your maps in large 4v4, 8v8 or whatever games. I want people to play my maps in these scale games, along me with them if not just for testing, hell just off the cuff. Anyway, thought I'd share what I'm looking for. Any advise, a what's up, recommendations, or special days/get together I should be aware of, let me know. Thanks guys! UPDATE: Ohh BTW, this is old, but I did a video of an map I did when I first got Reach. It's still around and really wish I could carry it over to 4, as I would still love to get it tested and played.... ENJOY! Halo Reach Forge - Drop Zone XPZ010 - YouTube
Empty intro thread? What is this? Where are the usual people? Welcome anyway, I'm sure now that I've posted, others will too. I seem to have a crowd of people stalking me around these days.
It's good to see that you guys aren't following the announcement. Welcome to Forgehub XTREEMMAK. Judging from what you said in your introduction, it seems that you want to get your maps out to the public while also having the chance to play theirs. I've provided some links below that should help you get started off on that path. Tester's Guild - Before you release your map, it's highly suggested that you test it to ensure that it isn't experiencing any issues. The Tester's Guild does just that. They'll take your map (if it's lucky enough to get chosen), test it, and then compile a feedback thread detailing the positive and negative aspects of your map. If you do choose to submit your map to the Tester's Guild, make sure you go over the guidelines Forge Discussion - Because 343 Industries have not yet set up the file sharing system on Waypoint, the Halo 4 map database has not been opened. However, that does not mean that you can't show off your map. The Forge Discussion sub-forums allow users to discuss anything related to forge, along with posting map previews for the upcoming maps. These previews usually feature a few pictures or a video along with a description of the map. Customs Lobby - As you mentioned in your introduction, you're very keen on participating in custom games on various maps. The custom game lobby can assist with that. In this lobby, you can organise or sign up for custom game sessions. Also, by signing yourself up to the list of Gamertags to play customs, you could make some new friends that share the same interest as you. These are just some areas of the site that can help you with what you're looking for. There's plenty more to find around the rest of the site. I'd highly recommend checking out everything. Perhaps you'll find something of interest. Welcome to Forgehub.
Yeah guys, Berb's the only person allowed to call himself Berb now. On that note, welcome to the insane asylum.
Hello there. You could call me Minister or Muffin, or you could call me the muffin from Hell. Any of which is fine.
Wow, thanks guys for the warm welcome, and thanks Chron for helping me get started with the particulars .
