Noooooch. Haven't talked to you in a while. I love your forging style, and maybe we could do a co-forge in halo 4? I'll be remaking Scythe first. It is my most recent map that never got released in reach. It is also my first working competitive design. I might still release it on reach anyway.
On the serious side, I sketched out a map today in my Java class, and promptly left after I had finished it. It's going to be set up primarily for 1-flag, and it will probably work with 2-flag after some tweaks.
Boom. I am decided. Almost every map i make will be on impact. You know why? Because the Impact-Struts look soooooper sexy
I will be remaking this and this* on Impact. *Yes, I realize I can't use Invasion for this map, but I do at least want to re-create the aesthetics of it (it was always more of an aesthetic map than an Invasion map anyway).
As seems standard around here, i'll be using a remake to learn my way around the new forge/canvases. I've been running with some ideas lately, and have discovered lots of ways to improve on Dead Streets design, while also pushing the concept forward and out of gimmick territory. Other than the remake, i'll also be working on a large scale BTB map that should appeal to old(er) school Halo fans. It'll have the vehicular mayhem of Coag, with the more infantry friendly pathing and connectivity of Containment. After studing tons of videos showcasing Halo 4 forge, i'm pretty sure i've found the perfect spot/canvas for what i've got in mind. But I guess I won't really know for sure how this one will pan out until Tuesday.
I'm probably gonna work on a linear flood map series I originally wanted to do in Reach, but figured wouldn't have time to finish by Halo 4's release. I'll work on other stuff too, mainly Flood, but if I get good enough I may make some competitive maps.
The first thing I'd make is a big ass ramp with warthogs and kill balls. You cannot tell me you won't do that. I mean guys, a huge ramp, I mean, come on. Seriously though, I may try and make a small 2v2 map, with a UNSC base theme. I want to try out those gravity changing zone thing. Antigravity chambers for the win.
I'm fairly certain we're all going to do that, it's just a matter of who can use then the best is who's going to get the most downloads.
First project I will work on is the one I am currently doing the scaling on Reach for, so it will be the easiest to transfer to Halo 4 I am hoping since I never got to complete it in Reach. It is a large scale Big Team Battle Map with a figure 8 and various vehicular paths throughout a assortment of Forerunner themed bases, structures, that will allow infantry to travel safely through them to avoid vehicles while keeping camping at a minimum. I will be keeping the vehicular mayhem from maps such as Sidewinder, Avalanche, Containment and various others while taking working toward having it all balanced very well with the infantry and their own routes. I will be doing it on Ravine if I feel the terrain will be fitting and large enough, if not Ravine then I will try Erosion.
Im really excited to build my Haunted mansion map, above the water area in Erosion. I think i have some good idea,s. A classic house map, with some little twists. Big wooden bridge, rock pillar holding the house etc. But more excited to build my first campaign map, i already had planned for reach, but now moving on in H4. I,ve got an whole story planned, almost like an machinima, but then to read, play and with pictures.
Im gona make an alian map for flood mode in space. I made an outline already but im not going to start forging it or anything untill I beat the game. Im also gona start making alot more horse maps because they're fun to play alone and with a friend
I missed out on the flood of Lockout remakes so I guess I'll make one of those. But instead, I'll try to scale it properly to adapt to Halo 4's sprint ability. You know, just get used to the editor.
