I will probably wait until Halo 4 to do this, but wouldn't it be awesome? Think about it... Huge map, everyone starts in the middle, weapons in the "cornucopia" of sorts, they never respawn, scarce ammo. Random hidden weapons around the map, only 1 life, takes a while to kill someone, melees do hardly any damage, when you die you're out. When you spawn, you'll have a trait for 30 seconds of no movement. A light will then spawn in the middle above the cornucopia signaling that you can now move. Not always getting what you want is the fun of it, and the weapons in the middle aren't the only ones on the entire map. There will be random supplies scattered around, so you will have a choice of duking it out in the middle or running off and exploring for other supplies. There will also be more than one round. What do you guys think? Maybe I've just been playing too much Minecraft Hunger games...
Take the fun and the action out of a fun actiongame, sounds like a great plan. Sounds way to random for the, you could die within the first minutes of a game, just because someone else got lucky with a weapon drop. Now you'll have to wait for the rest of the round, just to see the same thing happen again? Another thing would be the huge map, how exciting would it be, to play on a huge forest map with limited los and the final two people looking for each other for 5 minutes?
It's actually been done numerous times already. Not always with success, but still. I wouldn't literally copy the Hunger Games concept but tweak it in a Halo-way so it will actually work right and will be fun all the time. How come that in Forge Discussion LD is almost always the writer of the comment above mine?
You do make a valid point, LD, but you don't have to be such a **** about it. It won't be exactly like it, but tweaked slightly so that it would work for Halo better, like REM said. It might not have to be a HUGE map, but big enough so that games last a little longer than a minute.
Someone already beat you to it. Still more versions is always better. Always nice to see a new take on it. "Hunger Games" - YouTube
