    Intro

This is the first map in my new series (the old one being Haunted). This is in essence, a tutorial for the rest of the series. Why, you ask, would I need to make a tutorial for a game of zombies (yes, more zombies. Flame me for originality. I dare you)? Well this is a new game. I call it: Objective Zombies. In this gametype the humans will be tasked with surviving until doors open, hitting switches for big cash prizes (or weapons...), and being forced to traverse strategically stupid areas full of zombies. I think it is going to be great. On the other hand, you might hate it and call me a retard for trying to complicate zombies. Either way, I hope you enjoy my new series: Final Contact.

    Final Contact I

For years after the breaking of the covenant we began to wonder: Is that it? Was that all that out there? A bunch of dinosaurs who call themselves elites (those bastards. are they that full of themselves?), a bunch of machine possesing worms and a freaky zombie/alien/fishbug creature from little shop of horrors!? Unfortunately, no. That wasn't it. Mankind (well, the workers of area 64 [area 51 has been blown up a lot of times]) is now tasked with stopping a race of shape-shifting-balloons, armed with weak explosives, from destroying the galaxy. This is the first chapter of their escape. This is their Final Contact with the rest of the world... Until they escape.

    The Map:

The Humans- You will all spawn in a rather small area. To your left and right are some tunnels filled with man-cannons that will prevent you from using them. And the door. Your objective is to last for 3min. This is made easier by the opening of the door after 2min. In side the room past the door is a custom power-up that will allow weapon pickup for 5seconds. Directly below the power-up is a Flamethrower. Grab it quick or the zombies will, or your power-up will wear off. If you can survive for 3min a wall will spawn that will block the zombies/aliens from reaching you. Also, if you can survive for 3min then the round will end and you will win (can you win zombies? in objective zombies, yes).

Zombies- You spawn in your spaceship made of marshmellows. It is melting. Go through the teleporters and attempt to kill the humans with you puny Bruteshots. You wont kill them the first time. Almost certainly not the second time. But maybe if you are lucky, by the 5th attempt to kill the humans they will be dead. But probably not. ...Go shape-shifting-balloon-aliens!?

And now what you actually want to see, the pics!!!

    The zombie/
    shape-shifting-balloon-alien spawn:[IMG]

The door (what the red dude is cowering next to):

The red dude fights back (he will win. the
zombie/shape-shifting-balloon-alien has no chance. at all):

The entrance to one of the zombie tunnels (they have to break through those pallets to get out. so they can get owned by the humans. again):

The room past the door. Study this image:

Diagram attack!!! (if you read the description, it will be fairly self-explanatory)
    Olive - Human Spawn Area
    Blue - Objects
Transparent Blue Wall - The timed door
Transparent Yellow Triangles - One way indicators
Dark Green Boxes on the walls behind the triangles - Zombie teleporter receiver nodes

    The Gametype:

    Humans-
    Bullet-hose (smg)
    Limited Ammo
    Non-regenerative shields
    Lots of damage resistance

    Zombies-
    4x Overshield
    Brute shot
    shape-shifting-balloon-alien
    Very weak
Needs to work together in order to win
    Very weak
    Unlimited ammo

    Download Map
    Download Gametype

Please. You need both of these in order for this to work. I think.

Looks pretty cool, rather small though. The pics you've posted aren't informative enough and I cant really get a grasp on how this is set up.

Hmm... I have a diagram on my comp somewhere... Give a little while to find it, and I will edit it into the original post.

Hmm..odd story line. However, the screenshots youve provided have aroused my curiosity. It looks like you know how to interlock and merge fairly well, and the map looks neat and tidy, which is always a plus. And although almost everyone who has ever made a map has made one for infection, I will dl and give you a second critique. Good job man, keep up the good work!

Yeah, the story line was either going to be this, or aliens that invade a post office so they can send their infants to all of us, in the post.

Love how you used the concrete barricades for your door way into the final room mate! Very clever and looks much nicer than a dumpster or crate.

This map and game type has a very intense feel to it, the fighting rarely has a dull moment in it and even when you get into the final room where there is only one entrance, by the time it opens for you, you're ammo is so low that it's very hard to camp the door way. Even with the flame thrower.

I tried that in my first game, killed about 5 zombies and then one got lucky and took me out before the fire killed him. I lasted maybe 15seconds in there.

EDIT: just saw your first post says humans have unlimited ammo and yet in-game, they don't.

Rofl, thats right. I wrote the gametype desc out of memory of the playtesting, and forgot that I turned off unlimited ammo so it wouldn't be so easy. I will fix my original post.

As I have said in the intro, this map is only a tutorial for my new series. The next map has something special in store.

Awesome tight hallways is what draws me closer to this map. I also like that neat little diagram you made, but the only thing I see that might cause bad gameplay is the flamethrower, it usually used in more open maps.

I put the flamethrower in because I knew that by the time the humans made it into the room they were gonna be close to death. IMO the flamethrower is a very risky weapon for a map like this, and that is what I think keeps it balanced.

I've tried camping in the second room from just about everywhere, it never works for very long.
Best bet for the humans to survive is good team work in the main room trying to conserve ammo by use of beat downs.
