    Hello everyone, welcome to my final competitive map in Halo:Reach. Baseline is a 10 - 12 player asymmetric objective map designed for 1 Flag CTF and Territories primarily. Baseline was designed as a communications relay sunken down into the ground with rocks collapsing in around the edges. The map is asymmetric but has a lot of symmetric aspects allowing it to play well for both asymmetric objective games as well as slayer games. The video explains much of the rest, so download and enjoy. Feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks for all the help with reworking the map and advice in testing. If not for you I would have posted this map a month ago when it was still herping and derping all over the place. Let's kick some ass in Hub of the Dead man!

    Thanks for help in all of the testing. If you are in the game we will always have someone to drive a flaming Warthog into the enemy base for us.

    And of course ConfuseFlamingo, AbleSirThomas, Yardbird, Fraustophobia, Mexican Torta, and a ton of others (tell me and I'll add you to the list.) I would be nowhere without you guys or this site.

    I never got to test, but I saw this when you were just beginning to create the map. It looks to have turned out fantastically, and despite a simple design, it is executed extremely well and with enough variations to make it interesting and unique. The extreme lack of cover in the center bothers me, but aside from that nothing pops out to me as flawed. nice work, i look forward to playing halo again with you when H4 comes out.

    I remember playing a CTF game on this map with you guys about a month back and the balance of it worked really well. I can tell you spent time on the gameplay aspect of the map which is really the only way to go in BTB, as FR problems can easily get out of control. I agree with Audienceofone about the lack of cover in the middle, but in a way I think it might promote faster movement across the map. I remember trying to get to one side and hurrying to avoid being taken down. I'll give it a DL and try to get a game on it. Nice job Flyingshoe :)

    Short post, but the video pretty much explaines everything. To be honest i watched the video first, before i came to forgehub. Anyway, this map looks great and you have an likeable style of forging. This certainly will recieve an download from me!

    Glad to see this finally posted... lil' baby Porridge is all grown up. *sniff*

    This is a fantastic map. Anybody who hasn't played it yet should get on that immediately. The size is just right for a frantic 6v6 and hogging is super fun (thanks to the addition of Sweet Jumpz). The asymm layout ended up working wonderfully; there's a great mix of longer-range street fighting through center and around the circle, with plenty of smaller close-ranged rooms and hallways to duck into around the perimeter. I'm especially fond of the Ghost spawn and back hallway, mostly because I built it ;)

    To everyone commenting about the lack of cover in the center: Do not fret. It's not as open as it seems, seeing as there's a fat building right smack in the middle that you can dance around. It's been said before (not naming names, of course) that the middle would be a "deathtrap" and that "nobody would be able to pull a flag through there," but after many many tests I can personally assure everyone that is profoundly false. Not to say that it isn't a tough fight, but if a team can get a warthog on a good run, the shorter distance can make for some incredibly fast caps.

    This map looks great and I really like the layout. The one thing I find disappointing is that a warthog cannot jump over the ramp and through the center above the spartan laser.

    You can at least jump the hog through the splazor room. I got a splatter that way once.

    Cool map, bro.

    JK. I like that you went with something as simple as a circle but made it asymm. I like the theme, too :) Aesthetics are great for a map this big - I really like the touch you made with the walkway, larges.

    Definitely going to try and get some games on this one. Nice job, Mr. I Love Running :)

    Oh the memories this map has given us, its really come a long way since the first day you let me check it out in forge, and you always took any advice someone gave you about additional improvements. This is a fantastic map, and its evolution overtime has been great to witness, its perhaps one of the funnest territories maps I have ever played and great care was taken to get it to that point.

    From the very subtle changes, to the huge ones, you always kept your focus and constantly added improvements to the design, one of my favorite areas is the center of the map and the Ramps, there tons of fun for vehicles.

    I was happy to be a part of testing this map through the entire process, and Im glad to see how far you have come as a forger and I am glad to have you as a friend as well, heres hoping Halo 4 will bring some great experiences like Reach has.

    @ Audience - Thanks man, join up in our customs sometime before Reach ends and I'll be sure to put this on. As for the center (this is in answer to everyone) here is the story. I had a few different people tell me that the center seemed too open after playing a game or two, and so I kept my eye on how it was playing for a long time to see what was happening. Through this I determined eventually that there wasn't a real problem with the center being open and that players were able to successfully use the area, albeit a bit more cautiously. In the end I decided to leave it how it was because it seemed to be playing well in the long run.

    @ Raine - Thanks man, we'll be doing some awesome forging in Halo 4 pretty soon. In the meantime, lets make the last of Reach count! I'll see you in customs.

    @ The Others - Thanks guys, and like I said, feel free to join and help us send Reach out with a bang.

    A flaming warthog is essentially a giant pile of explosives and you all know I like a good explosion. There were quite a few epic flag runs on here and awesome territories games on both sides, not to mention the occasions of facing off a nearly dead hog against a laser. Great map shoe.

    Well that seems to make sense. No need to fix something that isn't broken. And yeah, once this weekend is over I'll have more free time so maybe I'll join you then. if you don't mind telling me, is there a time you typically do customs?

    this map looks amazing. I have been working on a map which is actually pretty similar to it just not as much grey :D
    i would love to get a game on it but no one plays reach anymore :(

    I'm on Reach a few times a week for customs. We will definitely be playing the map bunch before Halo 4 comes out, so if you want to join in one of our lobbies feel free to.

    Oh look, i never posted on here. Ya know, I like made the video and such, but never actually posted.

    Basically, I'm still not a huge fan of the laser on here. other than that though, you've got a sexy territory setup and a map which plays a great game of one-flag. I could be like Mock and say I like the parts I helped with the best, but that would be silly. This is a pretty significant improvement from Embarcadero, and a great squad, squad map in general. I look forward to galavanting around the realms of Halo 4ge with you Shoebert.

    The rockets or plasma launcher would work well in that spot also, but I just love the laser and I feel it keeps the hogs on their toes more. We have had a lot of great squad, squad games on here so far and hopefully we can have a few more before we start Humdingering around Halo 4 forge. Thanks for the support from everyone!

    I think what makes this map interesting is the asymmetric layout. Its awesome how overall the map looks like a balanced symmetrical arena map, but when you look around, there's so many differences between the two sides. I always find a map much more exciting when you get to play as either team and have a slightly different experience playing the map.

    really enjoyed the layout and the forging of this map.
    this is my type of btb map, i love maps that promote good driving lines and hog action.

    unfortunately, playing it with 4v4 CTF, it did not shine. felt much too big.
    but now, i see that it is actually meant for larger parties, and that explains it all.

    i hope to get another couple games in on it before Reach dies, i really like it.

    Thanks man, I'm glad to hear it. We will be hopefully playing this a few more times over the next few weeks, and we are always glad to have more people. I knew the map wouldn't hold up as well for 4 v 4 for the contest, but I figured that as it played pretty decent 5 v 5 flag I might as well try it.
