The last of my endeavors in the “Lametastic Map Pack” some may consider the best. It certainly has the most downloads, anyway. I proudly present Fast Break, a fast paced in-your-face serving of pandemonium with a side dish of instant gratification. Need I say more?

The map consists of a long enclosed corridor beginning with a supply of mongooses and ending with an outside ramp terminating in a man-cannon. The player must drive a mongoose over the cannon to successfully reach the scoring mechanism.

Simple, right? Except that the opposition is supplied with nearly every weapon imaginable and would like nothing more than to see you and your mongoose demolished again and again in your futile attempts to score.

Team work (and occasional dumb luck) is required to win this game. We have discovered that at least one man on foot creating a diversion is often sufficient to stem the infinite tide of enemies just long enough for the offense to score.

There are two distinct ways to play Fast Break:

One-sided: One team spawns at the mongooses and attempts to score. The other team spawns outside and must defend the ramp until the round ends.

Neutral: Every man for himself! All players spawn outside & attempt to drive a mongoose up the ramp & into the hill. Teams optional. Chaos is not.

Fast Break tends to work best with the One-sided variant. The spawning is better and the overall experience is crazy-fun but not too chaotic. The Neutral variant, however, is absolute anarchy, especially with teams disabled. But it’s also the favorite among testers, so you be the judge.

At least four players are recommended and probably 8-10 is ideal. To prevent instant spawn killing and discourage camping, everyone has brief invincibility upon respawn and the offense sometimes spawns on an elevated surface. I had hoped to post a video demonstrating Fast Break but unfortunately I do not have a capture card. So the best I can do is offer a short match to download for anyone interested or confused: Link to Film Clip.

The more veteran forgers among you may remember Fast Break from Halo 3. User “Tempus 360” and I achieved this concept on Rat’s Nest, of all maps. The outcome was a resounding success among our friends, presenting hours of good times even among the inexperienced players. This new iteration is largely similar to the original, with a few key changes. If you enjoy it half as much as we have, you will have got your money’s worth. Thanks for looking!

I like this. Ur map pack isn't half bad. By the way it sounds this can be very challanging depending who you play with. its almost like grif ball with cars in a way. running pass a war zone to the ramp is tricky. I think you should have put pics of gameplay so we get a better idea on what its like for both driver and defender alike. Nothing wrong with the map so good job
