Can someone tell me where to find the MLG Definitions thread? I want to know what exactly makes a map MLG quaity as opposed to regular quality, Thanks Much!!
So you're asking what sets an MLG map apart from your standard competitive map? Beyond the fundamental requirements in the design, there really isn't much that seperates the two in terms of the actual map. The only required aspects are no vehicles, no automatic weapons with a high rate of fire, and no moveable objects from my knowledge. The weapon set is limited to needle rifles, DMRs, frag grenades, plasma grenades, jet pack, evade, camo, custom powerup, plasma pistols, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and health packs. They all should have the correct timers and spare clips, and I think power weapons have to be drop spawned. I don't think it is a necessary requirement, but MLG maps put a heavy emphasis on team shooting and movement in the design. The idea of camping should be discouraged with the design and there should be a focus on map control. As far as gametype settings go, here's the basic gist: Primary: DMR No secondary No health recharge No starting equipment No motion tracker 120% Player speed 110% Jump height 150% Player gravity No penalties No team changing CPU: 30 seconds, 200% DR, forced color I could be wrong on some of this stuff, so you may want to do some research.
@Auburn I thought evade was removed? There's also a special zero bloom gametype for MLG, which is separate from team slayer. As for dropspawn timers, rockets are generally 178s and sniper/grenade launcher are 118s. Also, I've noticed MLG maps tend to have more color in their pieces (for callout purposes)
