    Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a predicament here.
    I have been working on this map for what feels like ages, finished the beta version, but am having very dis-heartening feelings about it.
    I've put too much into this map to let it die, so I am asking for any and all constructive criticisms and pointers.
    I am always up for any kind of change.
    I also need a group of testers, if anyone is interested.

    Tangent is a medium to large map that supports 8-16 players.

    Weapons:
    DMR:6
    Needle Rifle: 4
    Needler: 2
    Plasma Pistol: 2
    Plasma Grenades: 4
    Frag Grenades: 4
    Grenade Launcher: 1, Spawn: 110, Clips: 4 (total)
    Sniper Rifle: 1, Spawn: 130, Clips: 2 (Total)
    Rocket Launcher: 1, Spawn: 180, Clips: 2 (total)

    Vehicles:
    Ghost: 2
    Warthog: 2

    That "neutral base" isn't neutral enough, and is expanding.

    Hey, nice to see this map up :) I don't know if you've changed it since we tested your since named map, but warthogs and ghosts could go around the top of the structures.. Also, I never found the rocket launcher or sniper. If I'm not just really bad at finding stuff, maybe a more traveled-to location would work better?

    I meant for the vehicles to traverse the structures.
    Maybe limit which structures?
    As for the Power Weapons, they basically spawn in a line, dividing the middle.
    And they were frequently used, too. I could never get my hands on the sniper, lol.
    'Nade Launcher by the tower, rockets under mid bridge, sniper at the back wall.

    I still hold the same opinion that the map feels pretty cool but doesn't feel very... well defined? Like the paths just kind of haphazardly fell into place and may or may not work perfectly. I would draw the maps paths from a top down perspective and see how they connect/ where players are likely to go and try to figure out what is necessary and what is superfluous in terms of structure, basically the equivalent of planning the map out after it is built. I think you have a good idea running here, just a little more planning could be done now as I know you said you didn't do much beforehand. Overall though this is looking better.

    I'm very attached to this map.
    I think I'm going to draw it all out and start it again.
    THIS MAP NEEDS TO COME OUT, lol.
    I did happen to get two 5v5 TS matches on it, and everything ran surprisingly smoothly for a first time deal.

    @Behemoth, that was intentional? Apart from those raised areas, I didn't see any significant infantry-only areas... it was all mixed together.

    EDIT: Oh, you've only let vehicles on some of them. How about blocking vehicles from getting on the center ring structure?

    4X4 looks weird with all those Grey Pieces ........ But the whole thing looks pretty and fun to play , Hope i could get a game on it before Halo 4 .

    I don't understand how, given the piece usage and map location, this map has no framerate lag? I've half built maps in that location before that had huge framerate drops when looking towards the sea (despite the sea being walled off). It just seems like there's always going to be a lot on screen at once, with multiple explosions of covenant barriers, vehicles, grenades, players firing... I can't see how it wouldn't suffer from a performance point of view?

    I'd alsobe inclined to agree slightly with Shoe, it does seem like the map hasn't had much planning in terms of player movement and more or less appears to be a very vehicular based map.

    I haven't played it though, so this is just my input from what I can see and what I've read from other players.

    You know, there aren't really any performance issues; at least not in 5v5 non-splitscreen.
    I did do a splitscreen test, and it held up well enough, but that was without all the chaos.

    And I'm rethinking EVERYTHING and drawing it this time.
    I think this is a good template for a much better map in the future.

    Nice looking map :) I am doing a project on the other side of the canyon that has a similiar theme. These Forerunner style maps are always hard to plan out, especially when it comes to knowing just how to use the terrain to your benefit. One good thing about the area you have decided to forge in is that it does indeed have some nice flatter terrain and functions well as a smooth track for vehicles.

    I would try replacing some of the 4x4s with colliseum walls if possible and adding a little more structure to those areas, they seem quite flat at the moment. But what seems to be the biggest issue you are having?
