WOW this map looks really good. It looks heavily inspired by Sanctuary which is a great Halo 2 map. It wasn't so good of a map in Reach, but I bet yours will play great since it was built for Reach. The only part that I'm not kicky about is the rocks sticking through the metal. I think you could move the whole map so that it is on Grass. Then the rocks would look more natural. Other than that it looks great.
i do agree with what you said but it is for mlg and mlg people dont like any color or natural things unless they are rocks lol
That's actually far from true, it's just Sanctuary. A majority of them like playing on MLG Sanctuary for the sake of nostalgia. Plus, they complain about grenades not bouncing well in grass. But overall, they complain very much about the gray. - Anyways, about this map, I cannot take it seriously. From what I see, you took odd inspiration from Sanctuary and ripped off a few pieces from the MLG map actually known in Reach as Oasis (A prime example is "your" grenade launcher building). Quite a coincidence. As for some actual feedback, The areas other than the middle or the GL building are extremely open (The rocks won't make up for it; they barely even do on Sanc). And also, the bases are extremely lacking in depth. Sure, you have cover, but how will you get out of there? I would simply give the bases more depth (such as some back areas/ramps that help conceal you from the other side) and also make the open area (bonfire) feel smaller. Edit: The core issue with your map (That sums up the rest of the issues) is that you cannot transition between bases, buildings, or the middle structure without moving along the bottom floor. It makes for shallow gameplay and camping because players will find themselves pinned down at their bases and/or players can hold the middle/GL without any chance of them being taken down. I would suggest making the map more compact and implement some bridges so players can move across the map while not feeling so exposed. Think about Sanctuary. Take note of the movement options from the base to sniper and from sniper to mid. There's always potential for improvement on maps like these, which is good; but the least you can do is take parts of a map and make slight changes to them. This is just one map, but hopefully you'll end up forging with your own ideas in the future. Map inspiration is welcome, but don't blatantly or partially replicate parts of a map (You know, moving rocks, adding a pillar, removing connected bridges). I hope this helps you, as long as you take it with an open mind. Edit: God damn necrobumps
Isao, I was writing something to the same effect as what you had down, but then I realized this map was a year old... Tikitike necrobumped it. I will agree that this map looks blatantly copied. Not the greatest thing to find in someone's map..
