    SURROUND

This is my 1st BTB map post in these forums. It took me about 7 hours to make and then the rest of the days I spent just editing and tweaking whatever I thought needed revision.

Some of the aesthetic features were from the Halo 4 map Longbow.

Not much time went into play testing since this map was built near the end of summer going into football season and with school starting; so if someone can D/L and give me some feedback on game play, it'll be much appreciated.

Again feedback is very much asked for and thank you.

it looks very interesting! Was it based off of longbow? It looks a lot like it. The only thing I would change is the tiling of the bases. (like in the second picture).

Yes, the aesthetic tunnels were from longbow, and the tiling for the bases were 2x2 shorts I think , and this map used my whole budget :/ , so it was a trade-off; Save some money and use ugly tiling. But in-game it isn't that bad :) .

Yeah, like Minion said, the tiling makes the bases look ugly, but they look decent otherwise. Aesthetic-wise, I LOVE the pipes surrounding blue base, it looks absolutely beautiful, and green building doesn't look bad either. Only thing I'm concerned with is the rockets in front of the teleporter. Great job!

I dont have to repeat what zigywig and minion just said, but it doesnt matter. This looks pretty nice, and i could see at the first pic already, that you took inspiration from longbow Halo 4. I quite like it, the bases look pretty nice and the two middle structures have my attention. Looks intresting for objective gameplay. I like it, keep it up! :D

Wow, I see that the tiling wasn't a good choice but I'll leave it at that seeing that when you actually play it, it'll be something you look at and don't give it a second thought. Thanks for the advice , I'll use that in the future, I am creating a map that uses the 2x2 tiling for floor support so I'll change that. :) .

Tiling isn't always bad. Flat 2x2 and 2x1 pieces can look good when used well, but the 3x3 texture generally looks bad. There's a reason those are so under used.

Everything looks great, except the pair of collosal walls blocking the creek (bottom of 1st pic). Have you tried using soft kill boundaries instead? Also, with the body of water separating the island from the mainland, could use a few soft kill boundaries, unless you intend players to go there. Overall, very well done!

Yes, I intended the players to go there but I there's this gap that people can fall through if they go out of bounds and they try to go back in bounds so I had to seal of that gap. :/ But other than that there are kill boundaries everywhere else. :) .
