Alright, here is my third map that I believe is worthy enough to be posted. This one is also a symmetrical map, built between Alaska and the Crypt designed to utilize the water as part of the central focus of the map. This map has 2 primary levels, the Bottom level containing the Sniper Rifle with the Middle level containing the Rockets. There is also a Top level protruding from the adjacent to the Middle level and opposite the Bottom level that provides an excellent jump to the middle of the map. As always, please leave some sort of criticism, whether it be positive or negative, in order for me to hopefully make better maps in the future and even in Halo 4. And without further adieu, I present to you Insurrection v2. Overview: Spawn: Health next to Spawn: "Top" Level: Back of "Top" Level: Bottom Level: Bottom Level Sniper Spawn: Middle Level Platform with Rocket Spawn: Weapons: x4 DRM x1 Sniper Rifle x1 Rocket Launcher x1 Needler x1 Plasma Pistol x4 Frag Grenades x2 Plasma Grenades
you really like these arena style maps, eh? I'm grabbing all of these because I never get huge parties
Arena style are the only type I really make. I have a hard time doing large scale. I have many maps that I just stopped working on because I couldn't think of anything. Although I do have one map I've been working on for a little while now that is supposed to be Invasion, although I have never made any Invasion maps before. I may try and make one more map before Halo 4 comes out though, maybe a little larger than my others hopefully.
Sweet. The biggest issue I have is LoS, but then I playtest with my buds and I tweak them til they are fixed. I'll send you my gamertag and we can try co forging sometime.
Ive spoted some zfight. From the looks of it I think it will play good but I haven't had a party to test it yet
The aesthetics are generally clean and it all looks good, though I'm finding the texture of the 4x4thin (possibly 5x5 thin though) blocks to be obnoxious. They are just out of place. Other than that some of these connections seem funky. In a bad way. Look at the image with the 'top level' shown. the brace large ramps look thin and strange, suddenly holding up a platform that seems to almost float. It shouldn't float. Also, the ramp shown in 'bottom level' looks strange how it jutts out like that. Overall very well made arena. I must say that I am impressed by your maps, being the first I have seen from you they are very well made. A few issues and tweaks I would like to see done (such as the fact there appears to be very long sightlines here, and the ring is too easy to just circle with a team) but overall this is very nice. Congratulations.
