I'll get to play Halo 4 (And various other games) next month from the 26th to the 30th in London at the Eurogamer Expo, and there'll be a Q&A with 343 industries' Frank O'Connor. Is there anything you guys want me to ask, or what in-game features do you want me to explore whilst I'm there? I doubt they'll talk much about campaign, but other than that I should be able to find out some stuff for you all I'll put responses in this thread when I have answers. Also worth mentioning, I won't get to play spartan ops, just the 'Infinity' multiplayer.. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Proof
Ask if there's a new palette in forge. I'm pretty sure there is, but it would be nice to have confirmation. New objects does not equal new palette
Ah, apparently the Halo 4 Q&A session is only on the first day from 12:00 until 1:00, and I haven't booked the train tickets, I know we're heading up on that day, but I'm not sure what time we'll be there, my friend has done all the booking... Either way I'll still get to play it, but I don't know for sure yet if I'll get there in time to meet Frank. Still prepare me some questions or in-game things to find out, but be prepared if I miss this elusive Mr O'Connor...
A Dongblainer is a multiplayer achievement in Halo 4 War games. To unlock the achievement, win 20 war games. It gives you 20 gamerscore.
So tell us again, what does Dongblainer mean? Probably something similar to aihab I presume. If I were to ask him a question it would be: Is the War Games map pack released with the LE going to be released as purchasable DLC for the rest of the community? Or what else gameplay-affecting am I missing out on by not purchasing the LE? If these already have clear answers, bust my balls and let me know.
It is the same maps that the rest of the community will have access to. And you don't get the map pack(s) at launch with the LE, you'll just be able to download them for free when they do come out. You get no extra maps at launch. Kinda like the gears 3 season pass if youre familiar. But you get access to all of the Specializations at launch with the LE, while everyone else only starts with the pioneer and that one stealthy one i think. could be wrong about the second.
Hopefully some of the guys from certain affinity will be there because they're the guys you'll want to ask anything relating to forge.
And they completely defray the cost of the limited edition, at least if you're buying from Australia. If you're not getting the limited, you're pretty much an idiot. Or someone like shanon who doesn't buy the last map pack to piss off his friends who don't want to play Countdown or Zealot every ****ing game.
Just hoping there won't the shitfest disaster recreation of anything similar to sword base. It doesn't frustrate me just that it's utter ****, but that everyone always seems to vote for it, every time. And spend the entire game hiding crouched in top lift with sword and armour lock. Every time, no exceptions. Doesn't make for fun fair gameplay at all, and for some reason it's still one of the most popular to come up in the matchmaking maps rotation, you'd think that they'd have identified how people are playing it and at least reduced the frequency that people can abuse it... Fingers crossed heatmaps are properly looked at during internal playtests so they can identify that **** early and tweak it all out. Seems most people play to farm stats and abuse exploits before playing to develop skills and play for fun, fair competition. In my eyes, the priority is not allowing people to do so, and the rest will come naturally. From what little I've seen though, the maps seem fairly tight. I'll make sure to be on the lookout for strong spots to catch onto early whilst I'm there, and try to describe them/what's wrong or how it could be used cheaply, but touch wood, I won't find any.
Sword Base in small games, Hemm in BTB, these are the two blights of our age. But seriously, are you playing vanilla TS? I play a fair amount of Super Slayer, Team Objective etc. and the Sword Base problem isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. I find it comes up just about as much as any other map, perhaps less, and the only gametype I can remember playing it recently with any frequency is Oddball in TO. Don't get me wrong, it plays Oddball awfully, but it's far from common now so I find it pretty inoffensive overall. Tbh I play Pinnacle more often than Sword Base, which is a whole other can of worms in itself, but for the most part I think the Sword Base issue has been largely resolved at this stage.
Oddball on Sword Base is the pinnacle of Halo gameplay. Just get a small lead, drop the ball in the middle, and kill the other team as they run towards it. It's great.
