    Canary​


    Canary is the map I will be submitting to the Flag Reset contest, playing Multi-Flag. It is on the larger side, but I think 4v4 should be fine on it, especially with the vehicles that are present. My goal when building this map was to have it so infantry would fight on the catwalks and platforms, while the vehicles would battle beneath them. It is easiest for warthogs to complete a circuit on the outskirts of the map, but if you feel like being riskier, you could drive through the center regions. To sum it up, I just wanted to make a great balance of infantry and vehicles. Hopefully the map will turn out great. Here are some pictures of the map:

    I like it its a pretty cool looking map, but i think since the bases are diagonal from each other, players will just travel to the other base in a straight line, causing the walkways on the side to be neglected, if i was you i'd make a route going through the middle, so it will make players stay on the route, and use the sides, also i think there should be less rocks in the middle, just to allow the warthogs to travel through if they have to

    Glad to see I'm not the only one trying to implement vehicles into their Flag Reset map.

    I agree with what what DC said. Although that could be countered by placing a power weapon in a corner and having the loadout camera make its location obvious. Since I have no way of knowing whether you did that, I won't pass judgment.

    The map looks too crowded for warthog gameplay - maybe you should remove some of those rocks by red side. That would make Red side's existing lack of cover even worse - add some cover, maybe some more of that brace - looking thing?

    I would also like to see you make those paths (the brace large and 2x4 block paths) a bit wider. They feel somewhat cramped from what I can see.

    I think the layout of your map is fine and offers some good decisions for players to make.

    In regards to that diagonal line that DC mentioned, I wouldn't worry about installing an entire bridge for players to walk on, but instead scatter a few rocks here and there to give players a bit of cover agaisnt the warthog's gunner.

    By the way, could you offer a list of the weapons you have on this map please?

    I agree with DC, players will generally cut through the middle. Though if you haven't maybe put a power wep on the bridge and that will lure players to the bridge and stick them to the routes.

    I am not too sure why everyone is saying people would just cut through the middle; first off if you get off of the walkways and platforms you are at a severe disadvantage height wise, and you are extremely vulnerable to vehicles. With that said, I have removed to warthogs and instead made each team have a ghost in their place. Sadly not many people used them in last night's test, but I think the more people play on it, the more they will use them.

    Rockets
    Splaser
    Shotgun x2
    Turret x2
    PP x2
    Assorted DMRs and NRs.
    Other various and minor weapons.

    I'm considering re-adding the hogs, but I need to revise some areas to make them easier to drive.

    What I'm interested in knowing is why Blue team turret is facing away from the main area of the map

    First of all, I like the map name. Second, I like the map layout. While I'm not a fan of maps that aren't 1v1, this does look quite appealing.

    I'm just worried there's a lack of structure on the map to provide decent, efficient "cover".

    I'm going to check this out sometime, though.
