    A Better, Smarter System

So I'm sure we've all gotten pretty mad when a team mate betrays us for getting a vehicle or weapon before them. And it's very frustrating when they continue too, for example shoot you until your shields drain making you vulnerable to the enemy. Because they only damage you a bit, you have no control over to stop them.

However I have an idea for a SMART Betrayal system.

So here's how it would work...

The game would recognize how many shots are fired from a player to an ally.

For example, You are firing at an enemy but a few stray rounds hit a team mate.
Your mates health was already low from enemy fire, but as you worked to kill the enemy, a round hit your team mate and the game would call it a betrayal with the possibility of you getting booted from the match.

But, the smart system could break the event down and analyze what happened.

It would look at how many shots YOU fired at you team mate. If say the number was the one round that killed him because he took fire from the enemy before hand then it wouldn't count that as a betrayal.

To be humorous it could say assisted death! or just friendly fire.

But in general we need harsher penalties for those who betray continuously, like temporarily denied access to matchmaking for a certain period of time.

hmm.. Well I think that's it. I hope you understand what I mean.

    So what do you think?

If it affected revenue they would put some effort into the betrayal booting system.

Sounds like a good idea combined with some limitations and other catches.

Something that ignores anything as a result of the same trigger pull that also damages an enemy would help some of the issues of explosive weapons.
Ignoring damage from shots that stay in the air for more than about half a second would also help with long range explosive weapons.
Not counting betrayals of players who are standing in your vehicle would help with players standing in wraith and scorpion turrets.
Both involve stuff out of a players control so there's almost no way to abuse them.

It would be much better if you just couldn't betray in the first place.

I honestly think a simpler idea would be a percentage of health taken for bullets (if player is on 10% health, and one bullet hits him it is not a betrayal, but if on 50% health and killed by the player then count as a betrayal), with stricter (less damage dealt to count as a betrayal) rules if the player is holding a power weapon, such as a sniper or rocket launcher.

As for vehicles, I don't have a clue.

Thing is, you can actually get away with no betrayal if you do some damage to your team-mate just after they've taken some and the Reach system will give the opposing team the kill. It's a tiny window of justice that gives the other team a kill if you accidentally kill your team mate with a non-explosive weapon while they're taking damage or straight after. I've done it a couple of times on accident and on purpose and it's not even given me a betrayal. It only really works with non-1sk weapons and the like. It's a little bit of justice for those odd stray shots. I'm sure of this system as I've definitely shot annoying team mates on purpose while they were on low/no shields just after taking damage and not been given a betrayal.

I was under the assumption at one point in Reach system took in to account shot's on allies that didn't kill when deciding if the "Vote to boot" option would come up when you actually killed an ally, not valued as high as previous betrayals but still has a value.
(But it was ages ago and it could of been all bull but I like to "Innocent till guilty" on this fact because at least if its not true the rumors will stop a few people from doing it)

Also I don't think stricter RULES in a game should be our intention or goal, It's a game where here to have fun in our own ways and should be unrestrained as possible sure there will has to be some rules but our goal shouldn't be to ad more......

My suggestion is to make the game more balanced as in NOT make the sniper the one weapon to rule them all, Honestly how many people betray you over a AR or even concussion rifle. 99% of betrayals happen over the sniper(or tank) in my experience.
Why? Because everyone wants the sniper, Why? Because its OP.

If its not OP then not everyone in the world would want to use it so the incentive to betray would be out weighted by the actual betray so no need for more punishment and rules.

Actually, why DOES Halo even have betrayals?
