Hey Forge Hub, some of you may know me fairly well, or some of you may have seen me around the site. Anywho, it's about time I show people one of my other hobbies, making electronic music. I go by the name of DJ Chook (it`s a long story) I started about 2 or 3 years ago, and yes I still use Fruity loops. It's not what it sounds like, there are actually no loops involved. I use it more as a program that can support various VST's, Instruments and Sounds. I've used the program so much, that I've become very fast at it. I have a certain formula for making my songs kinda like how a song writer would structure a song. My favorite thing to make is probably Dubstep. Although, I've done everything from Electro House to Rap Beats and from Remixes to Ambient songs. Here is a list of some of the songs I created that I'm most proud of. Im in love with those dubstep drops, especially in night haha, you have new fan haha, do you use any actual instruments like a keyboard or something, or is it all free hand in fl?
I like the "Night" song a lot, the House one it felt like the drop came in too expectingly and it wasn't smooth, and the beginning intro didn't really fit it. I'll listen to the other songs when I get off work.
I don't plug in any instruments. But the program comes with an on screen keyboard that works even better IMO Well, thanks.
Okay I listend to most of the music and I can safely say that youve got a good start. When I listened to your remix of Skrillex and among your other works it was clipping alot because of how loud it was. like your track Get Loud clipped for 2 seconds straight. but one thing I know is that its Quality vs Quantity, would you rather release a track every few weeks thats awesome or have alot of tracks that noone likes? some of your remixes are really good like the Deadmau5 one I liked alot but the Somebody I used to know one i didnt even listen to because of how much I hate that song, thats nothing against you. Please dont take any of this I just told you as flaming, just trying to help.
I'm not sure if all of the links work because I'm on my iPod but let me know if any links need fixing. I hate that song too. Somebody told me to do a remix so I tried. Plus, I though it was better than the original cause of the bassline. I can't really tell if the rest of your feedback is good or bad, like the quality vs quantity thing. These are the songs I picked out of all my songs. So they should be quality not quantity. But Thanks for jammin out to my tunes.
Time is by far the best remix, the others don't even come close in my opinion. Pretty good stuff Paints.
