u can make an aesthetically nice floor and keep away from bumps by using a grid placed upside down and then stuff pieces under the invisible barrier of the grid but above the actual lines. Solves both problems. just need to make sure that the grid is level when u reload the map

It's a warm up map because it practices specific characteristics in matchmaking. Just because The map doesn't play the same as the one's in matchmaking, doesn't mean it is a poor warm-up map. Basicly what I'm saying is warm-up maps can vary in what they practice.

I don't like getting in arguments on here so this is the last I speak of the topic. I'm gonna take a chill pill before I get rill sill....(y is implied) See what I did there? comedy gold :p

    this.

(for adding substance to this post)

Playing on octagon warms you up for battles on Bottom mid of Countdown. That is an important part of the game that players need to worry about.

Awesome maps bro! The designs are interesting, I actually like the cluttered look of the Platform XLs, because in my opinion there doesn't always have to be orderliness like so many people tend to put in their maps... chaos can be a good and original touch!

Also, have you already posted your Swordbase Infection map?

You should take all the octagon... and eliminate it with fire!

Seriously, I don't understand how this can even be considered as a warm up map to anybody. Not to mention you had the opportunity to make it look gorgeous, yet you did not. You say to improve reaction time, but how can you do that when your opponent is already killing you after the initial spawns?

In a warm up map should you not have lines of sight with cover and more than 2 spawn points? The video proves that your friend right off stood no chance with your sniper and his one spawn point to go to after death. When you know exactly where the enemy spawns, you know it's a terrible spawn system- octagons are no exception. This map should come with the gametype 'let's stand get instantly killed by headshots and have no fun at all'.

The design is bloody awful and there is no possible way this can help anyone get ready for a normal game of Halo. I wish I could say something good about your octagons, and I did try to find something, but I could not.

I don't mind simple practice maps, but this is a revolting mess full of nothing but a chaotic disaster. Next time you build a practice map add cover, and more spawns. I know they don't usually have them but some height variation would be nice too.

I will not download, nor recommend, and will laugh in the person's face who thinks this is a good map. But I will not tell you that cannot play on it or make it. You seem to enjoy boring crap from the sounds of this all, and so be it. I suppose I am trying to help for next time you make a map... or something. Though I don't expect you to take my advice from what I see in the comments. Which is all well and fine too, but I will have you know that there is not a single thing here that I can call good or pretty. It is all a lazy excuse to 'train' reaction time and should you make a better map with cover and more than your pitiful excuse for spawning then I may enjoy that.

Got a bit carried away there.. wow... did not intend to write so much. I guess I mega-loathe (hate is not strong enough) these more than I thought.

Looks like somebody's more of a hexagon person...It's obviously not your style - and that is 'perfectly' alright, but everyone is entitled to a different sentiment. I've played these maps before, and depending on the spawns and weapons, it can be very fun. And you're not seriously going to propose that I didn't have fun while doing so, are you?

If you were using different weapons/settings, then you were not playing Octagon in the broken fashion it was meant to be played.

Nobody is going to argue that you had fun. Fun has little to do with the quality of a map, because it is entirely subjective. You can have fun on a map that is a pile of rocks, that doesn't mean that it plays well.

The issue is that Octagon is a lazy warm up map that could be substituted with many more competent maps.

Considering the Octagon is supposed to be used as a warm-up, I think the weapon settings depend on the game, versus the paradigm. I would expect precision weapons for the most part.

It may be lazy, but doesn't have to be offered to the more competitive players - and just two friends who need more precision practice.

It's ok, you did the right thing.

An empty, flat area with completely manipulated spawning is the epitome of broken warm-ups.

You must not have played Coastal by Baron AJ.

Actually, I reprimand my statement. The name of this thread is offered to MLG players - so blatantly, my previous statement is void in regards to this map.
