I don't want to start anything here, so let me make this clear. I'm fully aware that the Smackdown gametype is finalized. I am not suggesting any changes to it. I was working on my maps for the contest last night and thinking about the radar aspect. It occurred to me that being able to have a cooldown (or some similar limitation) on radar would make it functionally more like Promethian Vision, and let you have access to radar without having it on at all times, constantly alerting you to surreptitious advances. The next step doesn't take a master of deduction to figure out. I went and turned off radar, and set the CP to enable it. So radar as a pick-up - is it too much power for only one player, or is it an asset that should be controlled?
I would honestly think that it would not be powerful. IMO, it would be more powerful than having camo on enhanced radar, but less powerful than having camo on a no-radar game (I felt this should compare to camo). My idea for a CP on enhanced radar settings would be to give a player camo, then nullify both player's radars (making you undetectable and shutting off your own radar). It would help balance with the overshield. It would force people to use a red OS though.
I have found the CP OS settings (that Smackdown is using) to be too much for 1v1s so far. In my experience the only way to effectively combat it is to run, unless you have a rocket launcher handy. I set this to just give radar with CP. That's all it does, besides forced color white. It's set to 25m right now. Do you think 75m would be overkill? Edit: I don't think you can nullify both players' radar at once with CP. At least I can't figure out how to.
With 75m, the dots are too tiny and it's hard to perceive the player's location at range. But radar, overall, just kills me inside. And yeah, I was thinking about the player's waypoint for trying to make you undetectable. I don't think it works then.
