Efflux v2 Efflux is a 1v1 map designed for the Smackdown tournament/contest. Although I didn’t really make a backstory to this arena, areas of it appear overgrown,and there are some Forerunner aesthetics. Perhaps this was an old Forerunner facility. This map is cleanly forged. It plays well, with flowing gameplay. The map is not room based, so finding your opponent shouldn’t be too difficult. The map has dynamic spawning so that you’ll spawn wherever is safest. The first version of this map had screwed up gravity lifts that would shoot you too far or too short depending on how you approached them. Those were a pain to fix. They are now pretty consistent. Looks like a semi-decent map. I like the simplicity of the 2 floor+central bridge formula, as well as the amount of cover you put in the map, both top and bottom. However, there are a few problems you may want to address before the deadline: -The weapon setup features 4 strong weapons (plasma pistol, sniper, grenade launcher, needler) as well as an active camo. Since this is a 1v1 map, this means everyone can fill up on power weapons taking focus away from true skill. And not one of them spawns in the middle of the bridge, the most vulnerable area. No one has a real need to leave there spawn. -Since 3 out the 4 ways to get to the top floor are through lifts, this makes attacking the top difficult, because lifts disorient the player and make them easy targets. Not to mention the loud noise it makes when using them, so a player on the top will know exactly where and when to look for you. -Some of the structures were pretty pointless, such as one of the man cannon platforms, and that weird column structure made with the tunnels around 1:40 in your video. I highly recommend fixing these problems in the next 4 days if you want a better chance at winning the contest
I'll see what I can do. Unfortunately, I got home from my beach house last Friday and I'm leaving for two weeks early on Sunday. Just about everybody on my friends list is a casual gamer so it's hard for me to get opinions on how my maps play. Thanks for your opinion!
