    UPDATES: New light aesthetics and other minor changes in appearance (no changes to main structure of the map), reduced spiker ammo to 0 clips instead of 2, added a plasma grenade next to the pistol near blue initial spawn to give both players single access to two plasmas (may reduce to 2 total if necessary for the contest), added game type - oddball

    Greetings, here is my latest map created for the FHSmackdown 1v1 tournament. There are about 4 areas where battles will primarily take place, with each area in the map having a unique design that fits with the general style of the map. The size of the map may seem large, but with the Smackdown settings, it works very well. I've played a few games and a reaching a score of 15 doesn't take long to complete. While there is no specific theme for this map, I tried to construct it to feel and look like an real place and not just a bunch of blocks walls and incline pieces. Gameplay and aesthetics were my two primary focuses on this map. Iv'e done my best to make it a well balanced asymmetrical map but as always I'm open for suggestions and/or comments if you see areas of improvement {weapons, spawning, etc.)

    1 Shotgun - 0 Spare Clips - 120 Sec Respawn
    1 Grenade Launcher - 1 Spare Clip - 120 Sec Respawn
    2 Magnums - 2 Spare Clips - 45 Sec Respawn
    2 Needlers - 1 Spare Clip -45 Sec Respawn
    2 Needle Rifles - 1 Spare Clip - 45 Sec Respawn
    2 DMR's - 1 Spare Clip - 45 Sec Respawn
    1 Plasma Pistol - 1 Spare Clip - 45 Sec Respawn
    1 Spiker - 0 Spare Clips - 30 Sec Respawn
    1 Assault Rifle - 1 Spare Clip - 30 Sec Respawn
    3 Frag Grenades - 30 Sec Respawn
    4 Plasma Grenades - 30 Sec Respawn (may reduce to 2 if requested for the FHS contest)
    3 Health Packs - 30 sec Respawn

    I just started scrolling through the pictures, and as soon as I saw Red spawn, I was hooked. This map has a very nice style to it, and there seems to be a lot of grey, and just when I think it might be too much, there's some blue, or yellow. As I've scrolled through multiple times, I've been reminded of Valve's art style.

    The pillars on the wall, the line of sight blocker in the center, and the strategic placement of the windows, all lend to the realization that you aren't on Forgeworld anymore, you are in a map completely made out of objects not included in the pallet.

    Great job!

    Thanks CosmicJosh! You noticed exactly what I was trying for and what I work to achieve in all of my maps (many not posted yet). That center LOS blocker was added just yesterday as I thought the center needed some cover. While I like that this area gives players an area of more open combat, it fills in the area quite nicely.     Nice light fixtures. Nice object usage. Very aesthetically pleasing overall. Good luck in the contest :)
    Any FR issues by the lift in front of the windows?

    Thanks Whacky, appreciate the comments :) And no FR issues on this map amazingly. After forging long enough I think I finally figured out how to build without facing the problem. Believe it or not, there's only about $500 left in the budget. Any location on the map with high object density is in close quarters so it works well.

    And thanks for the good luck, there's definitely several great maps entered in the contest and it will be a great competition overall for sure. And hey, if you get a game on the map or wanna jump on one with me I'd love to hear any feedback for improvement. And I'm also thinking about putting a CPU on the LOS blocker on the bottom floor in the loadout pic. What do you think?

    Thanks Yellow Sausage. I definitely put in alot of time making the map unique and different for all the forgers out there. I've seen many maps over the past year or so and I've been impressed countless times and to get the same response to my own work is awesome. Thanks again and let me know if you run into any problems with the map if you decide to give it a go. Take care :)

    I have to say it looks like a pretty nice map, though I think you could of done better making the lights look better, but besides that seems like a nice map.

    Thanks for the comments FM, I agree on the light above the lift, I'll think of something different there, maybe something a bit different with the other one as well, good idea, thanks for the feedback :)

    While playing I found that the spiker had too much ammo. Once I got it I was able to camp on the upper area by blue base and went on a 10-0 run before the spiker ran out of ammo. The only reason I found it more powerful was the fact that melee damage is heightened in Smackdown, making the spiker more powerful than usual. Other than that the map looks great and spawn-killing wasn't an issue.

    Great catch Badger, that def is an issue. I'll get that fixed shortly. And I'm glad the spawning worked well as I hoped it would. Thanks for the feedback!!
