I am the commissioner of an unnamed Halo Reach league that is under construction. We are looking for people to help us with our maps. If you would be interested in having your map played in our league check out some of our standards across all maps. The DMR and the Needle Rifle are expected to be placed evenly across maps as well as the Frag and Plasma Grenades. If you would like to make a map(s) to be submitted for use within the league consider the following. Weapons Allowed Weapon - Spawn Timer - Spare Clips DMR - 15 - 2 Grenade Launcher - 60 - 2 Magnum - 15 - 2 Rocket Launcher - 150 - 0 Sniper Rifle - 90 - 1 Frag Grenade - 30 Concussion Rifle - 60 - 1 Needle Rifle - 15 - 2 Plasma Pistol - 30 - 2 Plasma Grenade - 30 Armor Abilities Allowed Ability - Spawn Timer Jet Pack - 60 Matches will use the following gametypes: King of The Hill, Capture the Flag, Slayer, Swat, Snipers. Whether or not to have bloom has not yet been decided. We may use a mix. In the league players will be drafted onto teams. The league will have levels of leagues in which each organization will have a team on each level similar to how hockey and baseball have minor leagues that players are called up from and sent down to. Feel free to contact me via Xbox Live about this. GT: JonnyBoyClink
you should probably make this a contest, cause, it sounds a bit restrictive and demanding. The fact that your League has no name and carries no weight does not help.
I have been running gaming competitions for several years. I know how to run things and can promise you that this is the kind of thing Reach has never had.
It has been running for several years and still does not have a name? also, yer sounding kinda conceited there..
You think it's conceited because you do not know what the league is. It has not been running for several years. I said earlier that it is under construction.
Good idea. It sort of already is in a way. People make and submit maps following those standards and the best ones are chosen to be our official maps that many will play on in competition.
Good question but no it just changes how the map author chooses what weapons and how many. There is no definitive amount of weapons to be used on each map or which ones to be used.
Sounds kinda interesting. I would submit a map if there were some kind of feedback/reward? E.g. PAINT'S map was played at this official Halo tournament. Here's some footage of the game. Something. Give me something.
It is kind of ridiculous you expect people to stick with those spawn times. Not all maps work within those timers.
It seems like it would make more sense to just download some maps and adjust the weapon timers to your liking. I mean, there is a huge database of maps here ready to go. If you're concerned about egos going unstroked, you could just post a list of maps you chose here with a thank-you to the authors or something.
You would be given credit in the map description and on the site the league is hosted on. I'm hoping to also assemble a small map making and editing team whose positions exist for the purpose of creating and editing maps for the league if that would interest you. You would credit but that would be about it. If it makes you feel better I'm not making anything off of this either. MLG uses the same timers and it works for them fine. It helps players know when the weapon drop is across all the maps. If it was different on every map you would have to be extremely dedicated to even find out what the spawns on a map are let alone remember them for a match. It helps keep players knowing what is going on better. That is something we will and have been doing as well. Players can submit maps without those standards but must know that things may be changed on the map. Even if someone follows the standards there is a good chance of things being changed like weapon placement. If the staff feels that a change in some way will improve the competitiveness of a map or the fun than that change will be made.
1. What size maps? 2. Do you have any people/teams for this? 3. Some people said this but what is the name for this "league" 4. Any rewards instead of saying this guy made this map? 5. If it is a "league" I think it will be stupid if you have finals,semi-finals etc. How does the "league" work?
1.Any size map can be submitted. The league will be 4v4 but I am an admin on Singles, Doubles, and Team ladders and it is likely that maps used in the league will be used in those ladders as well. If a map is to small for 4v4 than it could still be used in other events. 2. I have not yet begun recruiting nor have I set a time frame. I will be able to bring numbers for this. I have in the past and this will be easier to populate than other events I have populated. 3. It is yet to be named. 4. Nothing more than credit. If it makes you feel better that's all I get from this too. 5. If you are a sports fan than you will understand the league quite quickly as it is designed after that kind of system rather than a typical gaming ladder. There will be organizations which will have a team in every level of play. Players can be called up from and down to teams in different levels the same way the AHL and the NHL relate in hockey or the MLB and the minor leagues. Every organization has an owner and that owner is in charge of assigning the position for each team of General Manager and 1 or 2 Assistant General Managers. Teams will have around 12 players each and can have different players each round of a match. Matches are scheduled and at the end of the season is a playoff to decide the winner.
Idk y but this has a btb.net vibe.is it anything like that?because I am working on a competitive btb map I may submit.
Teams will have around 12 players but matches will be played 4v4. Teams will play Swat, Snipers, Slayer, KoTH and CTF gamemodes. Teams will choose players for matches based on how they play in each of these gamemodes but it isn't bigteam.
Why no territories, stockpile, or assault? All are more competitive than KotH--the gametype for grenade spam and bum-rushing--and definitely more suited for a competition.
Those are not necessarily not going to be used. The ones I said earlier are for sure going to be used but more may be added.
