I actually just played this today with Prince. There was a problem that was caught by the majority of the players involving a hard killzone. I personally did not see or experience this, but it forced us to close up the match early. You may want to look into this. Other than that, is it just a remake with the lifts on the opposite side?
Thanks for playing guys. Unfortunately you tested the older version. The below changes have been applied and uploaded to my fileshare. Please feel free to download and give it another go. Thanks again for testing. BTW: I don't care what the map is classified as, I only care about the game play, and creating an enjoyable experience for V8. Also only mute those who are clearly trying to troll me since I don't respond to them on other forums.
Thank you guys for testing, unfortunately you guys tested the previous version. The following changes have been applied and is in my filishare. Please feel free to down load and give it another go. Thanks again for testing. ~Update 1 ~ -> Made the map V7 compliant. (removed evade and pistols) -> Softened the inclince in each base. -> Changed Spawning to static -> Removed excess respawn points, and declustered them. -> Fixed Red gav-lift -> Relocated flag stands their orginal locations -> Removed stickies from mohawk, and left bunker, and relocated them to basement. -> Fixed protruding hard kills in basement of Red & Blue sides BTW: The only category I care that the map fits into is for great game play. I only mute those who are clearly trolling me from forum to forum.
For the record, most of the time Army is NOT trolling you. He gives harsh criticism to all of your work because you continue to brush him aside. It's more that he intent for you to quit being so damned stubborn and actually listen to him for a change. He was busting your balls in this thread though, as he is right, the map is a remake.
This shouldn't be called 'Straits', it should be called 'Narrows', because that's what this is. I really can't believe you are simply ignoring every single person who has ever told you that this is a remake. Ever since you created this map you have always insisted that it wasn't. Narrows is a very popular map and there is no way you could ever pass it off as your own. It is borderline insulting, even. You are staining your reputation as a forger by being ignorant.
Because I'm not calling the map a remake? Now your stretching it with that one nooooch. Ok heavily inspired by. Happier? If you go back, and load up your H3 narrows you'll see why I said inspired.
Because there are minute differences between the two maps and you didn't want to strain yourself with making it precise to the original? Honestly, by your argument, Asylum isn't a remake of Sanctuary as there are differences between the two... But there is no denying that it is a Sanctuary remake, albeit an inferior one at that...
You should still bill it as a remake though... Or work on something unique that is directly inspired by Narrows that will support split screen.
Plays more or less the same as Narrows... Which isn't that great of a map. Nor are any of it's spiritual successors...
as a forger, you should be willing to listen to and accept feedback from everyone, even if its negative as long as its constructive then you should listen.
I don't get the big problem here. I could care less if it's a remake or not if it's a cool map and plays good. Why is everybody going out of their way to bash this guy for such a small problem.
The original "narrows" had more invitation to its paths, your ramps leading towards the center are angled extremely steep. It felt like I was climbing up a mountain and was affecting gameplay for me. Nice budget but if you're not improving on the 'design' of Narrows you should try to construct it as much as possible to the original. "Remake" or not, at least it would play better. Also, are the lifts on the wrong sides? This could be corrected by switching the Red and Blue team zones. Take another look at Kinnesotan's version of Narrows:File Browser Halo Official Site That was the map I put on after yours. His map is the most accurate to the original that I've seen so far.
Last time I had feedback for you, you ignored all of it without explaining any reason why whatsoever. Now I see that you're just a stubborn kid who doesn't listen to anyone who doesn't praise the map. In the future, never invite me when you are playing a remake. Had I joined, I would've left immediately.
That's BC for you. If it's not praise, it's "trolling" and he'll "take your 'feedback' into consideration". I've seen this so many times now, all I do is just sit back and keep playing. I don't even offer feedback anymore.
When have I ever accused you of trolling? haunted is one thing, because he has never once provided useful valid feedback; And he actually does troll. As a forger I have the right to use what feedback I see fit. Positive or negative. I do very much listen to negative feedback. But the problem lies where a lot of you feel like your feedback is gospel. I do listen, understand, and I may disagree. I'll thank for your time and information, and possibly considerate it. But in the end it is my map.
