When I first released Vehiculation, it was a pet project turned fully-fledged puzzle map. I wanted to create something which incorperated all the vehicles I could into a series of challenges. Although it was met with some praise, there were many issues which needed to be addressed. These were amended in Vehiculation Co-Op, and the response was fantastic. However, this left an issue; what if people wanted a map with the standard of Vehiculation Co-Op, but to play alone? Thus, Vehiculation Redux was born. V'Redux is a reimagining of the original puzzle map, but with everything changed up to suit the Vehiculation V2 gametype used in Co-Op. In fact, it even teases it in the gametype description. Talk about worst-kept secrets. V'Redux aims to abolish the issues created by the original puzzle map, and eventually replace it in my file share to give fans of my puzzle maps the best experience I can give them. Issues I have addressed include: No more end-of-map death pits. In fact, death is pretty much impossible later in the map, so no need to worry about lack of checkpoints. Streamlined usage of vehicles. This creates a universal set of mechanics between the Redux and Co-Op maps. Breathing space. You can move around in open areas without any difficulty. Multiple spawns. How stupid does that sound, eh? You can play this map either alone, or co-operatively. Saying that, bringing a friend along may make it a tad easier. V2 gametype adds mechanics introduced in Co-Op, which translate well into a single player experience. Not everything can be solved using one solution. Believe me, this was an issue For those of you who haven't played the original, Vehiculation is a puzzle map revolving around Rocket Race. You are dragged to the last vehicle you enter after 10 seconds of being on foot, and can deal no damage either on foot or in a vehicle with weapons. You have to manipulate the mechanics of the Rocket Race gametype in order to reach the end. NOW, PICTURES. Finally, i'll leave you with a reiteration of what I said earlier. THIS IS NOT A COMPLETELY NEW VEHICULATION MAP. It is a reimagining of the original with some new puzzles mixed in with classic ones. Testers and whatnot welcome
I'll help test tomorrow if you're on. I love puzzle maps, and it's hard to find a good one I haven't played nowadays.
So, this does work for single player then? That's wonderful--co-op was the only reason I didn't play the last one. Gimme a link and I'll be sure to play it through.
