    Parallex (Spelled like so because Parallax sounds like a brand of laxatives) is an infection map that uses standard matchmaking infection variants, created by NlBBS and Rorak Kuroda. It was made specifically for the Hub of the Dead II contest, which it took second place in. Since then, we've revised the map extensively, adding new pathways to reduce camping and improving the frame-rate drastically. Unfortunately, this process did come with its aesthetic sacrifices, but the map still holds true to its original atmosphere; a dark as **** transport vessel being brutally infested by the zombie horde.

    Here are some pictures. The FX is simulated; the actual map is much darker. Mouse over for non-purple images.

    NlBBS and I would like to thank all our testers. We know how much infection sucks, so your presence was much-appreciated. We'd also like to give special thanks to Shad0w Viper

    About time you posted it lolz. Whenever BIOC gets big enough that we can actually start hosting DLC (Only) lobbies, I will definitely pick this one and put it on my don't-delay-to-play list.

    ooo I like it, Rorak, you can definetly forge, the first picture that thing on the wall reminds me of the 343 guilty spark. The color scheme is presistant throughout the map, and usually I hate on ramp stunts, but you made them work.

    First, best pic posting skills ever. I'm taking notes. I like the illuminated lines directing you through the dark pathways and I believe you could flesh that out more. My screen settings appear darker than the pics above so I'd like more visibility. I tried turning the effects off but its not the same. Especially for infection. Despite that, I love the layout and feel that a great FFA slayer map is hidden in there. Its not noticeable with the FX but too bad about the light-mapping on Tempest, otherwise you could really make a clean and sharp FFA version. And why haven't I played a game of infection on this one yet? Shame on me...and you...for building an infection map;)

    I'm a little late to the party, but I downloaded this last week and played it with some friends, and it was incredible. As a person who enjoys roleplaying in Halo, this was a fantastic experience, as the atmosphere was perfectly crafted. I know that the dark purple FX might turn some people off, but it really adds an extra layer to this map that you don't get on others. Gameplay wise, the map flowed exceptionally well, and we found that the balance between the infected and the survivors was damn near perfect, a rarity on most infection maps that my friends and I have tried/crafted. Rorak, you are an exceptional talent, and I look forward to your work in Halo 4.

    Kuroda and I got incredibly lucky when building numerous spots on this map. If you were to look at it in Forge, you would see just how closely a lot of the pieces come to exposing Tempest's natural geometry. Overall, the only disappointment I have this map is what we had to sacrifice to make it play as well as the final version does and eliminate as much lag as we could.

    Umm...

    Don't think that's gonna happen any time soon though. Probably not in reach. Maybe halo 4. :(
