First off im new so hello. So anyways I wanna know how are you guys inspired to make maps. It would be interesting to see how some of the great maps of today were inspired to be forged. For me i like to relate my maps to stuff i see in real life. For instance, I can see a area and imagine a battle happening there. I also get ideas from listening to music. Pretty much any song that seems epic in my mind.
I also listen to music, It helps me Forge. Concentrate. I'm not good at doing competitive maps, So I just do Aesthetic. I personally like listening to ODST Soundtrack...
Halo 2 soundtrack ftw! I get inspiration from lots of sources. First off is in game areas I could see a place in campaign and say"this looks cool lets do something with this" Second is other maps despite not wanting to copy others maps it is a great source for inspiration.i mainly make aesthetic maps though.
When I first played Halo: Reach I simply was inspired out of curiosity and excitement of the game and would be able to forge for hours on end and make some nice customs with my mates. After that excitement died down though I can't just casually forge any more, I need incentive which is why I joined this community, it's always nice to be appreciated by the people considered to be the experts. Plus making maps for competitions always gives me a reason of making it good enough to be chosen. So basically recognition inspires me I guess, and is why I joined the community When I first played Halo: Reach I simply was inspired out of curiosity and excitement of the game and would be able to forge for hours on end and make some nice customs with my mates.
