O.O it looks nice but I don't recommend using jump pads just because it slows you down when you walk over them and that can be annoying while in battle. Other than that the map looks nice and asthetics look different in a good way.
Looks really good, nice clean look and feel. I like the "blue" theme and the different aesthetic pieces you used. Is it asymetrical or symetrical?
Very cool map. I like all the levels and color and feel. Its also good that you switched the walls up and didnt use ugly overused coliseum walls. Good job overall.
The map is asymmetrical. The first two pictures show the center room. The remaining pictures show the spaces that surround the center. The jump pads are intended to be alternate routes to some of the surrounding areas. They allow quick access to higher elevations, but you have to walk through the center room to get to the jump pads. If you get caught in a battle where the jump pads are, consider yourself dead regardless of whether they slow you down or not. Your best bet would be to use the jump pads and hope you can escape. Chunk, it appears your asymmetric-map-building balls have really started to drop. I checked out all of your recent maps, and they are all huge improvements of your first asym. Of those maps, this one really felt like it would have the type of gameplay I prefer. I noticed there are some parts that felt a little dominant, but I forgot to check the weapon layout so I hope you did a good job using power weapons/powerups to balance the map and promote movement. I did not like the area in the last picture. It felt powerful, separated, and easy to defend (and piece usage). This is all speculation though. **** that FX. Sweet map bro.
Yeah, the whole asymmetric thing has been a pain in my arse. Thanks for the feedback. This is an improvement from my previous asymmetric attempts, but as you've noticed there's still a lot of room for improvement. FX was put in because the map looks bland without it. The area in the last picture is definitely the most powerful point on the map. However, I was hoping that putting camo directly underneath it would make it easier to overtake (that design could backfire, though). Also, it doesn't provide any access to power weapons, so if someone decides to hold down that area they'll be vulnerable to sniper fire from across the map, and Grenade Launcher assault from ramps. That area was definitely an area of concern for me. I learned a lot working on this map. The map I'm about to release blows this one away (in my opinion)...
This map looks amazing a Chunk. I'm happy to see this, but at the sane time. Kinda mad that I just made a map called indigo. I guess I might change the name if it bothers you. I could come up with something similar. I named it indigo because of the colors on the map, I'm guessing you too? What FX are those actually?
Feel free to use the name. To be honest, I don't even remember which FX I used. Pretty sure it was just Juicy.
