    Description
Well, it took a while but I finally found my way to posting my first map here. I've made others, but this one is the first one I think is worthy of posting.

    Getting Started
This project started out with me having the urge to post my first map on the forums. Since this was my first serious project, I wanted to take my time and be careful with my designs. I figured, "Hey, OVERBOARD! maps are easy to make, so why not make one for my first map?". Thus, Birthday Cake was born.

    The Forging
Believe it or not, my part in making this map only took me about an afternoon. My design was simple: Giant table used as the playing space, with a birthday cake in the center of it. Since OVERBOARD! maps are relatively small, I was given the opportunity to go crazy with aesthetics, such as the napkins, jars, and of course, the cake. Unfortunately I forgot to save the map the night I finished it, and when I found out next morning, I was like [IMG]. Nevertheless, it was easy to build again.

    A Little Bit of Help
At this point, everything I had to do with the map was done. There was just one thing missing: The cake. Here is where my friend/co-creator, DIEabolical, came in to the picture. He strated taking aesthetic requests from people so he would help them out with their map. This was my opportunity to finish the map. I told him I needed a cake built in my map to finish it off, and he gladly accepted it. It was a gong show trying to find a time to get on together, but alas, he eventually took my map and finished it off.

    Playtesting
I'm not gonna lie, but I only got 3 or 4 games on this map when I began to test it, but surprisingly, I found no flaws in it. I made sure I had a reasonable amount of people in my lobbies when I playtested it (by reasonable I meant any # of people, since this map can hold any amount of people). By the time I was done, all I had to do was wait for 343i to set their File Share system up. And now, here I am.

    About the Map
Birthday Cake was meant to support OVERBOARD! only. If you know what OVERBOARD! is, great [IMG]! If you don't, you might want to check out this thread. After playing a few games in the past, I think I hit the right idea of OVERBOARD! with this map. It supports 2-16 players and is a lot of fun.

    Conclusion
I guess that just about does it. I never knew that I would make it this far.

    Special thanks to:
DIEabolical D - For making the cake in the center and putting the handles on the jars

SKILLEDNumbeR1 - For herping and derping [IMG]

Anybody who helped playtest this map for me

How was everyone able to get a slice when the cake hasn't been cut? This is some dark magic....

I dont think I want a slice of that cake. You know, people running, throwing their stickies and all on it. Not only to say it is probably a bomb from XForgery to wipe the whole Forgehub population out. Look, it says overboard and XF on it. I dont want to be the one to stick my fork into the cake and blow us all up.

The cake is a lie my friends.

I didn't even make the cake, my friend made it. He likes XForgery better than Forgehub, and I wasn't around when he made it. Personally I think its fine even with the XF on it. Keep personal opinions to yourself, no harassing other sites.

Thanks! Let me know how some games go on it, I'd like to hear feedback from the crowd.

What is this new.. I mean, old devilry?
Looks cool, I'm normally not the biggest fan of these random casual games where you die a ton, but sometimes I am up for this stuff. We should check it out sometime together zigywig.

Thanks REMkings! Unfortunately for you you end up dying a lot in OVERBOARD!, especially on the small maps that it is made for. Glad you enjoy it!

Thanks Shik! When I was making this map, I kept an image of a table set-up for a cake in my mind. With Reach's limitations, this was the best I could do. Hell, DIEabolical attempted to make forks to put on the napkins (3x3 shorts), but the design didn't go well as planned, so we ended up deleting them. Let me know how some customs go on it, k? ;)
