This map is now like... I don't know.. 6 months old. It is just a Big Team Battle map for fun. It's essentially just a very large Beaver Creek-styled map, where we have identical bases on either end of the valley facing each other, with some junk in the way. The bases were designed as a larger version of the bases from Waterworks, which is to compensate for the speed in the gametypes I have for the map. I wanted to do more with the middle of the map, but budget went heavily into the bases since you spend a great deal of time defending them. I still think it came out really fun. It's got something for everyone. Shotgun defending, sniper coverage, warthog battles... even wraith bombing. On foot, in the driver's seat or in the gunner's spot, I can guarantee you'll at least enjoy yourself. I had a sweet video planned, but I cannot get my clips since they didn't bring back the rendering service. This actually looks good from what I can see(which isn't much from the pictures) but I just cannot STAND that when people use that antenna design you have in the last pic.just makes me cringe.
I was ballin' on a budget, with limited pieces, and I needed a significant landmark to help players ground themselves. It works well, and I'm not in love with it either. I think the bases are fairly impressive and nice to look at, but they suck for pictures. The video really would've helped me sell this map here. haha Not sayin' it's the greatest thing ever, just that it's a fun time. Give it a whirl.
I will if I can ever get enough people in a lobby ever again for a btb map( dosent happen often anymore.)
It's just something I created to play with my friends to get into the styling of Halo 4. Obviously it's not exact, since I can't drop ordinance, but it's the basic outline and fun. Movement: 120% Jump: 125% Gravity: 150% Shields and Health recharge: 110% Melee: 75% Reduced Bloom Loadout 1: DMR/AR - Sprint Loadout 2: AR/Mag - Sprint First to 500 points wins. Kills are worth 10 points. Various actions are worth additional points. (Sprees, headshots, etc)
I like the look of the bases from what I see from the pictures they look quite accurate to the Waterworks bases you were going for. I love the doors you have come up with they look very forerunner and match up with the styling of the Installation 04 and Halo 1, Halo 3 door designs. Ill definately give it a download and check it out, and I also feel the satelite piece doesnt fit in well with the forerunner design so I'll see what you have in scattered about in the middle and sides. Perhaps a small forerunner tower design similiar to Lockouts gravity lift tower could replace the walkways and the satelite dish near them.
Wait, didn't you already use this map title? Is this a re-imagining of a Sandbox map, or am I just mis-remembering?
yeah, it's a re-imagining of the sandbox map. The bases are fairly identical, as is mostly weapon placement, and the middle once again didn't come out how I wanted. haha. I found it a lot of fun none the less.
