    On the situational awareness issue, I know you cannot see the other objective from the objective, only from the neutral ground. That said, I think a sneaky middle route could provide more choice as well as providing a line of sight blocker between objectives and neutral grounds. Two birds, one stone you know.

    I see your point on the barrier MrGreen, and while I still think there are more important things we will try to work one out. I would certainly like one and it would not add to framerate, as we would likely gate the whole thing out phase 2. If we can find the parts and budget, we will probably do it (provided Duck agrees.)

    As for the initial spawns, yes, there is less urgency the first time you play. This may not be as good for first time players, but I think the more people play the more they will want to push up quickly to keep the pressure on, as it isn't an easy phase 1. It may not be exactly the same as the MM maps, but I don't think it is a bad replacement. AS for Pyro, I will fix spawn camping as spawn camping comes. Hopefully it will be minor, especially with good teams.

    Once Duck gets back online we need to sit down and start deciding what we want to change as per current tests. In the meantime, we will keep testing to see what happens. Thanks for the feedback guys!

    Holy this has changed a fair bit since I last saw it. What happened to the dense urban theme?

    That question aside; the map looks great, as one could expect from two high-caliber forgers such as yourselves. I've mainly seen the first phase, which I personally love. Keep up the great work guys, and hopefully I can get in a test sometime soon.

    How long's it been since you've seen the map? I've been gone for a week, so I guess I just assumed that you had been playing our baby in the meantime.

    Anyshwayz, nothing happened to the theme. The map looks about how I had been expecting it to turn out for months (aside from a deviation which would have resulted in more verticality, and a possibly better theme, but likely a set of problems as well which we chose not to take). I know it's not New Alexandria, but for a map this big, there's still quite a lot of detail and thematic elements. Compare it to Embarcadero, and you'll see a lot more detail (although no cable cars) here.

    Get your ass in a game soon, Berbman.

    After playing it a couple more times I now think it is NOT too long/deep and I would not shorten it at all.

    But it does still feel too narrow. Are there plans to widen the second Tier?

    I really like your map guys but you have to do something about the framedrops :/ it kills the fun for me

    We are working on a version that makes some changes to gameplay in the second and third phases while also shortening the map for reduced object count. We should be able to kill off most of the framerate soon.

    This shortening will not affect distances between objectives and spawns, as the spawns are moving back some into the phase 1 area. @Green we have had complaints from several players that the map was too wide, not narrow, making it hard for fire teams to coordinate. We realized however that it was how separated these teams were that was the real problem, and they are gaining new ways to move across the map laterally. Widening would also defeat the purpose of shortening the map, making us use the parts we just saved and getting framerate lag all over again.

    We finished with our "beta" version of the map yesterday, and tested it. Performance issues were much less common in this version, and were almost non-existent. The version also fixed a lot of the other problems in the original version of the map. The test went rather well for the most part, but we're currently working on a "delta" version, which re-works more, even, then the beta version did. Hopefully this delta version will be playable in a few days. Once it is, we will likely be doing a preview video for the map with THFE.

    This map looks just like what I've expected of an Invasion forge map:
    Big.
    Awesome.
    And More Awesome
    (and looks incredibly hard to build too :D)
    I just wish that I could play the map right now online or at least help in a beta or something.
    Sadly, my internet will not allow any of the two choices. :(

    So I threw a little preview together right quick to show you guys how the map looks absolutely nothing like it did when we originally posted this thread. We'll have a full video for this and some other invasion maps from this round of submissions up at THFE in the near future. Thanks to everyone who's helped with this map.

    The camera work looks like THFE camera work/quality. it moves around so much you can't see anything long enough to study it. It gets you dizzy quick....

    @Green The video is meant to do just this, give a quick preview of what the map is now with more info on the way. It's a bit jerky, but Duck had like an hour to throw it together after we finished it up for submission. Thanks for the jab at the THFE by the way, real constructive.

    For more info on the map vehicles include a Warthog and a Ghost Phase 2 with a Falcon and a Banshee added Phase 3. Spartans also get two Rocket Launchers and a Sniper Phase 2 while elites get a focus rifle Phase 2 then a plasma launcher phase 3. We believe the map performs well in 2 player split screen based off a few tests.

    Did you honestly think I meant it as a jab to THFE? None of their videos that I have seen are easy to watch because the camera movement is just too fast. I have told them this, but they don't care. Is it not constructive to point out poor camera work? Really?

    I agree, the camera work is jittery and sped up too much. Editing doesn't flow that well either. In the future I'd find someone else to make your videos if this is the norm for whoever these people are.

    I threw the video together in five minutes. It shows the map a little bit and that's all. Seeing as I make videos for a youtube channel with over 40,000 subscribers, I'd say that finding someone else to make videos for me would be pretty silly. No video made this fast is going to be any good. In THFE videos, we show plenty of the map with overviews giving some detail which is fleshed out in first-person gameplay.

    Now shut up about the video, and talk about the map.

    Bro, if you're gonna post about Meteora, go post in the final thread (linked in our sigs), and preferably post something a bit more substantial than that.

    Why are you being an ass? If your friend's camera work is jittery, it is very possible that could have more viewers with better camera handling.

    Do you guys only review BTB maps on THFE?

    *sigh* You completely missed the point and quoted the wrong post good sir.

    It was my camera work, and as I stated like five times, it was because I threw the preview together in a matter of minutes.

    At THFE we feature mini-games, infection maps, invasion maps, and competitive maps (which include 2v2s, 4v4s, and BTBs currently, but is always being expanded). It just so happens that the last two competitive features were BTB maps, the next several will not be.
