I can't believe there isn't already a thread for this made, it's better late than never I suppose. The beta is (probably) open now, and it's pretty fun once you get over its quirks and bugs - I'm definitely going to be playing it until it closes May 22nd. Discuss class setups and stuff below, or how much you hate the game, etc.
I was planning on making on actually. So far it seems like a pretty crappy mashup of what BF3/CoD would feel like in a TPS. Kind of a shame.
Is it open? I can't find anywhere to download it from the marketplace. Edit: Everywhere I've looked says you either have to have Splinter Cell: Conviction or pre-order the game.
The beta runs April 19th through May 2nd. While sites all talk about an open beta, it really isn't because you can only get it by owning SC:C, pre-order, or getting a random key by being a Uplay member. Oh, well. Doesn't look like my sort of game anyway.
I see it as Battlefield with cover - which I think is done quite well, especially how you can vault anything you can in real life. I don't like how there are so many people who think they can take out an entire team by themselves, and expect their team to get everything else done themselves. You really need a fireteam made up of your friends in order to win any games. All in all I think that if the Beta is any indication to the rest of the game, the game will be pretty good. I just don't think the game is right for competitive multiplayer.
I just seen the Xplay special of the Ghost Recon movie, Alpha. It was pretty awesome. It definitely showed off some of the games features. I like how Ubisoft also made the industrial firefight scene into a multiplayer map. I've had my eye on this game since it was first announced. I've been waiting for its beta test also. Did the beta test ever happen? Also, this game release date is coming very soon, so who's definitely getting it?
