When i came up with an idea for my map Sight (will be linked) it gave me an idea. Here is the idea: Taking two bases made from one/two buildings. putting in moveable items such as crates, barricades, and other things you can move, doing so will allow the player to "forge" a base while in slayer, giving them the choice to change up the battle field. Feedback is welcomed, i would like to know how this might work. Heres Link: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-forge-discussion/138648-map-sight.html
I doubt this will work since it's not possible to play a game of slayer in forge and would require too many honor rules. It could be a good warmup for a forgewar, I guess. lol. linkin' irrelevant things to advertise is frowned upon 'round here son!
That isn't what he means. He means let the players move the crates and such like back in Halo 2, when you were bored. Honestly? I don't see it working in Reach, due to the lack of movable objects and how much of a PITA it is to move them around.
Yah it would be to hard to move the crates. You would need to use concussion rifles and grav hammers to move the crates and that wouldn't make the gameplay very fun.
I LOVE the idea but like everyone has said there would be to many honor rules and just generally isn't realy possible but keep thinking of stuff like this cos it's stuff like this that will make forge, custom games and even MAYBE matchmaking so keep it up
I could see that working for Infection. You could potentially give the humans a vehicle to push the crates around, provided it couldn't get outside and splatter zombies in the open. Shame the forklift is campaign only. Zombies could have hammers for knocking down crates (and getting kills) and humans could have concussion rifles (to move crates) and either shotguns or magnums (for kills). Limited ammo would mean the CR ammo would need to be used efficiently.
Oh i see people are getting the wrong idea, The idea was (i guess i did not state it clearly) in battle (not forge) , like slayer you could move crates and all, you got that part. right. But the true idea was not just crates and such, even though force is needed to move them i found that some items when set to normal can be pushed with ease, such as: Small crates when slanted, Camping Stool, coluems (however that is spelled) and even railings. You don't need Weapons to get something moving beacuse you got a vehcile to do that. (sorry for my spelling, i can't seem to spell right today.) A Mongoose by itself has the power with little room to move a big crate and keep it moving, so idea would be like having a teammate get on your back so they can fight off the other team while your moving crates to make a makeshift house of crates and so. Other then that , the idea of using a weapon would be just to move bigger items like two crates stacked or small buildings. The idea came to me when i playing Campaign, i was fighting some elites on legendary mode and was having a hard time not being sniped. So i knocked over two crates and meleed them across the map to get close enough to melee with my Engery sword. So i figured, why can't we do this in custom map battles? You could end up creating a great makeshift base in the middle of the map that you use a defense point trying to hold off the other team for the next 3 mins. I enjoy your style of talking thou .
Movable Objects such as Crates and Vehicles and Toys and such despawn even if set on "NEVER". If you wanna build **** while shooting people, play this: Starhawk - The Weight of Battle Trailer - YouTube
