Longest Anniversary is a remake of Longest from Halo 1 that i did on High Noon as you can see. I decided to do it on High Noon for aesthetics and i was just sick of forge world. The map scale is as close as i could get it to the originale and i also looking at the map on halo pc when i was forging this so i tried to get every lil detail i could. I also managed to get the exact spawn on the map as they were in halo 1 as well. This truly is an almost perfect remake of this map and i hope every one who loved the orignal will love this to. Yeah... after considerable more testing it is best to remove that red light since it was a major contributor to the framerate... I was hoping I could get this info to you before you published the map.
I have to say, this looks amazing. I haven't played on Longest before but this doesn't just look 100% accurate on layout, it looks far better than the original. It's exactly as a remake should always be.
An updated version is already in the works and is actually nearly complete. We've completely re-done the floor, as well as other general cleanup which will definitely help it with High Noon's framerate issues. Here's a pic
It looks fantastic. I'm just sad I didn't much like longest in the first place. But its worth a try, especially because you used high noon as a canvas.
Wow looks really sexy, at first I was going to ***** about another blocky Longest remake, but then it was forged on High Noon, and it's actually clean. Nice job, I'll be downloading.
Looks good, you probably should get rid of the red light like pajama dad said. Also I think it could have a closer feel to the original if you add Purple FX but that's just my opinion, the map looks pretty solid.
Its maps like this that make me feel small as a Forger. You've taken a map that I had written off as "Unforgable" and turned it into a playable, picture perfect remake of a classic map. Good job. Very good job.
Wow this looks great. Between the remake verison and the actual thing, it's spot on! I haven't played this map before on Halo: Combat Enolved (spelt it wrong D'oh!) but the effort you put into this remake is unbelieveable. You used the correct objects and things to make the map. The only thing is a pain in the arse is the framerate of the map. But other than that you've put alot of effort onto this remake and also you've done a outstanding job of building this remake. - EpICx ReMiX XD

Could you copy this in forgeworld?, While I agree with you that forgeworld is getting repetitive, but it also has the superior forge capabilities (more parts/variety). also, the lack of a roof is killing me.
If you will do this in forge world (as many people myself included don't have the anniversary map pack) my suggestion is to do it in the colicium you will get a great lighting to make it more like the original in there.
No worries, the framerate has been significantly improved in the newest version which should be rolling out soon. Also, don't forget to keep an eye out for more of these remakes that are coming for Halo: Anniversary. Longest is just the first.
coliseum's got some funky lighting and usually has lagg problems, the skybox would be more appropriate.
I was going to say that we already have a remake from the late classic playlist and we don't need a hundred remakes of the same map and all that junk but this looks legitimately way better than that remake and has a cool look that high noon lighting creates. I salute you and will download this map
Technically that was a remake of the Halo 2 version "Elongation". This is pure Halo 1 Longest remake. [br][/br]Edited by merge: For everyone wanting a Forge World variant of this map I would recommend checking out the map named "Elusive" which was originally created by RobotChickens, but was edited by I Frightmare I (the creator of another remake "Hydra XXIII")
yours is actually more geometrically/aesthetically accurate (and is a bit cleaner) (though the "ladders did look amazing). oh well, nothing a bit of tweaking can't fix.
