Sorry Tittymars, its just CHUCK, Shuman, and I are really excited for Korra. Shuman and I have already watched the leaked first episode yesterday. I'm really excited for it, it reminded me a lot of Cowboy Bebop in the animation, and the soundtrack.

I know that Adventure Time is coming back on next month, and I've very excited for that. I've been meaning to catch up on Archer, I have it recorded on my DVR, just haven't got around ti watching it.

If you want we could have an ongoing conversation about some longer running shows, like Simpsons, I know some people don't like the newer seasons, but I feel this last season has been really great.

Oh my god, I want to watch Young Justice now just for The Flaming C, god that is goofy as ****.

And I was disappointed by the newest episode of Adventure Time. I only got 1 good gif from it too.

Yeah, I'm really trying to not watch any of the previews from now on, I would really like to see half of the show before it airs. Pretty much the rest of my cartoon viewing is reruns of King of the Hill, Simpsons, and the Adventure Time. Is there anything else out right now worth watching?

Because it's taboo in the Anime & Manga Thread, I'm going to provide quick insight on why I believe animation is on the decline here instead. However, these are pretty broad opinions given that I have not followed the medium recently.

First, I believe most recent animation lacks character depth. To be more specific, emotional profundity. It seems as if a character's personal temperament is designed with nothing more than humour in mind, leading every animation to become a run of idiocy and shenanigans with the primary goal of inciting chuckles from the audience. A prime example being an animation I watched recently, The Amazing World of Gumball.

Second, animation lacks unique audio. Looking back at earlier animation, music was a defining factor in the show or movie. Whether it be African instrumentals or some Chinese tunes, the music was always influenced by the theme of the animation. Now all I manage to find is generic, subtle background music utilized to help encompass viewers in the situation.

That's just my personal opinion on the subject. I'm ****ing excited for Black Dynamite.

i think most animation from anywhere lacks depth. You have to dig pretty much anywhere you look in any medium, including film.

I do agree with the music in cartoons, music is what hooks me into a lot of eastern animation The Track Team is doing great stuff with Korra (obviously) and that Kung Fu Panda show, which i dont care about, but good music. I'm glad they ended up where they are, making music for cartoons.

yeah and gumball is terrible. so is the annoying orange, its shitty that theyre mixing that in with Regular Show and Adventure Time every evening. Adventure Time in particular has some really amazing stuff going on.

Ive been catching up on South Park all day today, after watching the little 6 Days to Air documentary special thing, where its basically insight on the production of a South Park episode. those guys are ****ing crazy.
