Hello forgehub, today i am posting my newest map Vivid. Vivid is an asymmetrical 1v1 map that can also hold a 4 player FFA. Vivid was a Co-Forge made by me bullet2thehead9 and EpICx ReMiX XD. Our main goal with this map was to get rid of the grey and bland look that most of the newer maps have, so to do this we decided that ever wall on this map would have very bright and vivid colours on them. Now that we are finished i am happy to say that there is not wall on this map that doesnt have a splash or colour on it. I will probably update the map later to include more gametypes.

    WEAPONS
    DMR x infinity
    AR x2
    GL x1
    CP x1
    Frag x3
    Plasma x1

I remember building this map with you Bullet. I loved the way we decided to put 'Vivid' colours on every single wall and the way we made the layout of it. Can't not wait for an updated verison of the map! With KOTH and the other gametypes for an example. Then we had me againest you in a 1v1 slayer match on it. It was a very close match but you won it! I'm very happy the finished results of the map. Now I'm Puking Rainbows! XD. - EpICx ReMiX XD

Personally, I have taken a step away from color coating my map because I felt like it was the easy way. If you have a gray map, you are forced to create distinguishing areas with structure to provide orientation.

Your goal of bringing color into your map seems to be purely aesthetic. The main purpose of color coating a map, is to provide orientation. In this map's case, every room has the same colors, which can be disorientating.

wow you weren't kidding when you said colour on every wall.
i like how the color really blends into the wall and feels like an actual part os the map, and not just placed there to look like an aesthetic. this map is full of great theme and i just love the way you make forge world grey something, well not grey, cannot wait for more maps from you, definitely downloading this one, there's nothing i would change, this map looks perfect, great job! :)

I have to agree that with some maps you can get disoriented, but with this map that is not really a problem because of how simple the layout is and because there are multiple things in each are you can use to help you figure out where you are.

And yes Epicx ReMiX XD this was an extremely enjoyable forge and I can still can believe that I beat you on this map :p. Also thank you for the comment and downloads Slashed and Sawtooth I am glad to see that people like the map.

Yeah, what xzamplez said holds true on most maps, but this is a fairly simple 2v2. Something more complex or bigger, or a 4v4 and up, shouldn't do this, but use the colors for orientation. I liked the look on the map, though. Did you use an FX?

I'm his Co-Forger. Nope we didn't use any effects what so ever. But we tested different types such as Next Gen, Juicy and others but they didn't mix with the map. Although when we build the map the area was near the waterfall in the dark area. That makes the map a bit dark.

Adding on to what ReMiX said. It was built in the lagoon but it was built near the far outer wall so that you cannot tell you are near the waterfall because the waterfall is not visible and you cannot hear the waterfall either. Also there are multiple things on the map that do help you get a good understanding of where you are on the map.

Thank toy for the comment Xino Ghost. I do have to agree spawn trapping can occur from time to time but that is because 1: this is my first 1v1 map and 2: I have always sucked at placing spawns.

    RAINBOWS!!!
nah, just kidding. like the map layout and a very apt title. very clever use of object colours. maybe a pattern for orientation like red+green for red team, blue+yellow for blue team. Just a Thought. does it support Infection? i Like the idea of rainbow zombies...

the map is to small to support infection, it is a 1v1 map which means the size is really small. I cant really use colours to orient where you are because i have already added some aesthetics to give players an idea of where they are on the map. Also the layout is simple which make players remember the layout of the map in only a few seconds. thanks for sharing your thoughs.
