Breezeway Look no further for a serene place to die. 4-8 Players. Breezeway is a 4v4 symmetrical arena map, set on the tide pool area between the island and the cave, with stunning views of both. It is inspired loosely by countdown but has a much more open, outdoor feel. It features numerous interconnected pathways across the map, including some underground close-quarters rooms and some open outdoor areas as well. The top-mid of the map is a powerful but also vulnerable position, and is great for shootouts. Given the multiple levels and rooms, the map has several lifts and drop-down spots that are easy to learn. The map has a simple aesthetic flair to it, but it usually goes unappreciated given the map's fast-paced gameplay. Let me know if I missed you for a personal shout out for your help. Edit: I'm pleased to say that Breezeway won Forge Hub Favorites 32. Thanks for those who supported the map and helped make it what it is. Also, a video fly-through and review of the map can now be found below, specifically at 5:29. Thanks goes to Dark Hole Games for the great vid and review. here Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks for viewing! Download Breezeway
I am at a loss for words. This is one of the best maps I've ever seen. You are now in my top 5 bro. I love how complex it looks and I think the addition of the seaview for Rockets and the water underneath the map really make it a fresh site. I want this in matchmaking now.
I'll have to be playing this soon. You somehow always avoid me with your testing sessions. As always, it looks like this map is yet another step forward for your forging skills, my friend. Hopefully I'll like what I see when I take a look around in forge and actually play this bad boy. I can't wait to see where you go next, keep improving man. Also, look at the tags
It's posted, cool. I've played Breezeway several times and it is a great, fast paced map with many options to choose from. It's got great angles and inclines to lob grenades and a decent amount of corners that will either make or break your team. It also has great aesthetics that help keep you situated. You've certainly found a little niche in aesthetic and gameplay that can be applied and built upon in future maps. Great map Cyborg. Will definitely give this a vote in the next FHF. Nice timing by the way, lol.
I must say, it does look rather impressive. Its a little hard to judge the over all design/layout from the screen provided, but I can't imagine it'll be too hard. I'm a little "meh" about the use of 4x4 blocks though. That aside, keep up the good work.
this map looks superb, nice variety of pieces used, nice and smooth and put together and like 'A 3 LEGGED GOAT' said nice to see it by the sea sort of thing and i agree with him on it being in matchmaking realy nice well done
Every Monday, dude. We've only been doing it for a year now and posting a thread in the customs lobby on top of it. Slacker! Breezeway is an excellent map. I've played it at least a dozen times and fair to say I've enjoyed it more each time, and also enjoyed seeing its evolution from rough draft to finished and awesome. It's a TERRIFIC multi-flag map that leads to intense, nailbiter games, and it's also good for slayer and basically anything else. Highly recommended.
and Thanks for the kind words guys. I don't want to get my hopes up thinking about matchmaking but I really appreciate it. I'm not sure how but I never see you on and yet I have a feeling we're both pretty damn often. Which tags did you mean? I added a few of them, but whichever one you added, thanks! Let me know how it goes if you do get a game on it. Thank you sir. There seem to be a lot of noms this round already so I can't tell if you were joking about my timing. I actually wanted to release it a few days ago but realized I had saved zero action shots. I know the 4x4 blocks look a little forgey but I really couldn't have the built the map without them. Especially the 4x4 flats, for multi-level maps they're hard to avoid. Hopefully the next forge pallet will have better looking simple wall pieces that don't have weird attachments we have to hide or work around (ahem, brace, large). Thanks for the comment. Thanks ND for all your help testing and for the early structural tips as well. And for getting together with Gorilla to make the sweet baby known as the tgn/tcoj.
Nutduster was obviously the woman in that relationship. This map has been a great pleasure to test. It captures all the best aspects of countdown and similar maps and does it better. And your simple aesthetic flair didn't go unnoticed. Like many others already said, this map deserves a place in matchmaking. Preferably in a playlist that doesn't suck.
@ GrenadeGorilla8, thanks bro. I'm not sure which playlists would be left then! Haha, I kid, I kiiid. I appreciate all the testing and feedback. Btw you need to release one of your damn maps already. @Terrorwolfman, thanks. Do come back with more feedback if you get any games on it.
Arena would be acceptable! And I should have two maps that I will be happy enough with to be released soon!
Probably my favourite of your maps cyborg. What I love is that its compact yet theres plenty of routes to keep you entertained, a true feat of forging! Plays flag like you wouldnt believe and I'm sorry to see it leave our testing nights. Looking forward to putting Siren through some rigorous/very relaxed testing.
You'd better! Thanks Mr. Funk. Or is it Mr. Anti-funk? Your gt suggests you don't like funk, but... that's impossible. Everyone likes funk. Back on topic, I will probably run it again in tcoj sometime since I'll have fewer things to test as the semester goes on.
This looked like a great map. Too bad I never gained a chance to try it out. Even though there are a lot of 4 by 4s, the map looks like it would play great and I give a pat on the back for pushing towards 4v4 instead of another 2v2 or 1v1. Good work.
Sorry I never got you in on any tests on it. I never had anything against using 4x4s, I think they can be used tastefully in some cases. I also see where people get annoyed with them when they are used recklessly, but I don't think I did that here. At least I used them consistently and it goes with the blue airy/watery theme of the map. As for the 2v2 and 1v1s, I haven't really ventured into that territory, but mostly because my main testing venue is the TCOJ, which does nothing but 4v4s. I would like to try my hand at a smaller map sometime though, given all the inspiring smaller stuff done in the past few months. Anyways, thanks for the comment.
I wanna get a game on this. It's nothing I haven't seen before in terms of objects, but's it's simple, and sometimes simple works best. That balcony where rocks spawn is looking sick. So realistic. When I forge i try to recreate something visually similar to that of a a real-world setting (example: the balcony) Great job. DL+1
Thanks, Paints. I'm glad you appreciate the balcony. I also try to forge believable settings wherever possible.
Thanks wort wort. Here's to hoping it makes it into matchmaking. Spoiler I know, I know: dream on, mr. cyborg
I was wondering if and when you were going to submit this to the Library. I would vote for it every time it came up. One of my all-time favorites from you.
