Don't care about performance (because it all comes down to money in the end anyway), I just like the way they look It's by far my favourite hatchback (unless you could get the newer euro civic hatchbacks in the US). All the others look like mini-minivans where the hatch extends too far back and looks ugly or it looks like a Fit or prius or something IMO. Also, I drive slow LoL! Older GTI but this is how I'd have it: Or murdered out completely, but I'm saving that for an SUV probs.
To each their own, I'll respect that. I too like a good hatch, if I were to get one it would easily be WRX STI. But oh so expensive .____. That or a 500 Abarth. Too bad it's a bit underpowered... as well as FWD... But still, for around 20k, that's not bad, especially since the aftermarket parts will help give it a power boost. Plus! It's Italian.
I've never understood the draw of the hatchback. I just don't see it. To each his own, I'm not knocking it, and apparently a few of my friends really like them. One guy who always drives trucks and jeeps and prides himself on being "Manly" wants one of these: Spoiler
I feel like Subaru's are too common where I live (NoVA is the hot bed of the Asian community -_-) and Civics are too common when I move down to my home (Virginia Beach is like the opposite coast of the hellaflush cali scene). Here's my gf's '93 JDM integra. A lil beat up but it's a champ We put a new transmission/flywheel/clutch in recently.
I like hatches because of the room and because of the benefits of having a better sounding bass system. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Oh how I hate jdm civics.... I don't understand how people can act like their 91 civic with a b20 engine is a sports car. I can understand swapping with a much more powerful engine, but a B series really just doesn't cut it nowadays. Along with just neglecting the suspension, tranny, and brake system. They're good gas savers though.
Hatchbacks are a blast to drive. I had three of them. Two VW Golfs and a GTI. Its all about taking corners like a BOWSS. An STI would awesome too. The WRX is a good compromise though.
I keep seeing this car all over the internet, and I'm 99% sure I saw a orange and black one in a BMW 2012 commercial yesterday, but I cannot find any information on it, IE what it's called, or if I can buy one. still sexy. People have called it a remodel of the BMW M1. There's also an electric powered car BMW is pushing that looks a lot like this, I think it might be just a co-model thing.
Concept Vehicles - M1 Homage Press Release - BMW North America Really just a concept as of right now. Along with the i8 concept: Concept Vehicles - BMW North America I'd imagine they'd have a very hefty price tag. Not my cup of tea.
I knew it was a concept, I was just confused from seeing it in a commercial. I thought it might have a really limited release, like other "Specialty" cars have had in the past. I just have a thing for BMWs :3
Lol she bought it for $2200, just a cheap daily driver that isn't a shitty chevy malibu or something. However you can really make some clean civics. I think it's more about the customization and how cheap it is to do with these cars. Also you can always boost. There are some amazing ones though when Mexicans aren't driving them. Might not be for you but I love this ****
I can appreciate how clean they are, they look like some nice cruisers. But to me, the FWD and lack of a LSD, powerful engines, as well as mediocre suspension is what stops Civics from being a sport car. Don't get me wrong, Civics are great cars for a DD, they have inexpensive parts and are very reliable. To me, it will take a lot of tuning to make a sports car out of one.
Hyundai Sonata. My cousin has this car and he seems to enjoy it a lot. I've heard many good things about it. With the extra 10k? I dunno. I'll probably invest into some cool parts or something.
The pre-heavy, pre-underpowered BMW's were badass. Here is my baby, its a 2.5L right now but im rebuilding a 4.4L V8 to drop in
A few years ago, I went to the Goodwood Festival of speed. For those who don't know what it is, it's a celebration of all things cars, held at a country house owned by a guy obsessed with cars. (He's also a Lord). It's the best place to see the widest variety of cars in the world, with some being over 100 years old! I took some pictures and I thought you guys would like to see them. I know the pics are rather old, but I've never had any other chance to share them, so here you go. Goodwood 2010 pictures by SkybladePhoenix - Photobucket
I had to go to LA for some work related business. I counted 3 Nissan R35s, 1 NSX and a Maserati. Oh and 3 Bentleys, but those don't count because they are pretty lame. Nice pics Sky, diggin the McLarens.
I actually love Bentleys Its luxury and racing combined. I've been in some at car shows. I could seriously sleep in live in one of them.
