Lamp looks good, but the wood behind it really caught my eye. Bump mapping for the win! Honestly, I scrolled over this image quickly because I went to the last post first, and it looked quite real for that split second before my brain realised it was generated. Great work, dude.
thanks! it is actually a normal map, which is basically a 3d bump map and is much sexier. final version of the house will have normal map on everything. just to switch it up again and keep posting stuff, here is a couple pages of ballpoint pen doodles:
Titmar, your imagination is creeping me out. I love the artwork though, how you display your creepy ass imagination is awesome.
test rendering of the western house, created with Vue. final will not look much like this, this was just a test to see how it would look in Vue.
modelled and textured with Maya and Photoshop rendered in Vue [br][/br]Edited by merge: some more stuff with Vue... this program is magic. Spoiler [br][/br]Edited by merge: and additionally, something else i am working on for the intro shot of a short film: Spoiler stupid auto-merge...
Bumpage. Finished up my house render (for now.) I might revisit this once I am less busy, model the interior and add some more details and fix the parts I don't like. But for now, I am so done with this. Spoiler I decided to finish the render with mentalray in maya instead of using that other program Vue that I had previously used to make the cool landscape. Rendering 500 frames out of there would have taken like 30 minutes per frame. I don't have the time for that!!
That's pretty sweet, dude. I don't understand all the technicalities with the program, but that render looks pretty damn good.
derping around with a side project for fun now that school ended... wasn't going to post this until it was done but... im kinda at a loss for what else to do with it, so i thought i'd post it here and see if any forger suggestions might inspire me what do you guys think? if it was a map, what else would you add to make this structure more interesting?
Looks like it could use some stained-glass windows and maybe a big atrium with pathways going around it.
little bit of an update. added a couple of your suggestions. the flags are just a placeholder right now, they wont all be frozen identically like that. any other thoughts? what looks weird, what did i forget, etc
