Dicasus* is a small, symmetrical, indoors map that I designed mainly for free-for-all. It works with some team games too, but I recommend a medium-sized game of Classic Slayer or Crazy King. Now, the structure of the map. Like I said above, the map is symmetrical, so almost everything is repeated on the other side of the map. This map consists of four stories (two main stories, two smaller stories). The main stories are both square rings around the edge of the map. The lower one is not that interesting. All it has is the main diagonal rocket bridge, which connects two of the corners, as well as a sniper rifle on the other corners on either side of the bridge. The second main floor is where most of the action takes place. On opposite corners, there are two teleporters. They can take one to one another, or they might drop you right down in the middle of the rocket bridge with little cover and some fall damage (just to make things interesting). In the other two corners are the corner bunkers, which provide people with some nice cover and a needle rifle. Also in these corners (outside the bunkers), lies a man cannon, which launches one onto the very top, fourth floor. This floor is pretty small and lacks cover, but also provides a great vantage point and plenty of grenades. The only way off of this platform is to jump, which will do a little fall damage. This platform surrounds a box, in which the drop teleporter is, so the fall deals the same amount of damage. Now on the opposite side of the height spectrum, is the jet pack bridge. This is the lowest survivable point on the map. This bridge also runs diagonally, but perpendicular to the rocket bridge, which it is directly underneath. On either end of this bridge are ramp bridges that take you up to the lower main floor, near the sniper spawn. Yah sorry for no comments yet, lol. but anyway i had to watch the video cause i cant really see your pictures cause there too small. But from the video i reallt like it. It remindes me of a Halo: CE map, it has the middle floating platforms and the wide outer floors. Whitch is a style i use a lot. The only thing i can tell is that you used the 45% platforms, whitch untill yesterday I dident see a problem with but it has been pointed out to me a couple times on my newest map that it is a no no. but other than that welcome to forgehub keep up the good forging, im gonna have to try this map out when i get Reach again.
Yeah sorry about the small pictures. I could either get them normal size one by one or do them all at once, small. And I know people generally don't like the 2x2 steeps (including me), but because of limited space within the map, I had to use them. I'm pretty sure that they don't effect gameplay all that much.
Yah i really dont care about the steep ramps i just needed something to say that was on the negitive side, lol. And if you use photobucket they will be normal sice with no thumbnail size in it, thats how i can tell you used imageshack.us
You could just lower the top level to get rid of the steep ramps. Also, Y U NO USE BIGGER PICS?! But still, the map is okay, I think the middle is a little open, but eh, I'm tired.
Hey thanks for commenting, sorry about the small pics. The middle rocket bridge is pretty open, that's why the teleporter is gamble because it might drop you there, so you are pretty much screwed. However, the lower bridge is actually relatively covered by rocket bridge right above it. A good plan to get the rockets is to go for the jet pack first and the fly up to rocket bridge. Another interesting thing is that the second main floor is not the best place to dispatch someone on the bridge, because from the top, you have a limited line of sight on the bridges, while on the lower level, you can get a full 360 degree view on the bridges. This justifies the height of the top floor, it limits the view on the bridges. Like I said before, most of the action goes on up on the second main floor, so the bridges are much safer than they look. Of course these are the kind of things you can pick up only by downloading and playing the map.
