THINK OF HALO 2s TERMINAL AND THE CROSSING TRAINS THE KILL BALL HAS BEEN TESTED AND WATCHED LIKE A 100 TIMES FOR FLAWS. SO FAR NONE AND PLAYS FINE. BEFORE PIC- THAT HAD THE OPEN SPACE AFTER PIC- REVISED VERSION OF OPEN SPACE. SIMPLE BUT SHOULD ALLOW FOR COVER. BUILDINGS AND ADDITIONAL ROOMS DIDN'T LOOK OR FEEL RIGHT. OVERALL, I INTENDED THIS MAP TO BE A SLAYER/ CTF (ONE FLAG) MAP. THE MAP ISNT FLASHY OR COMPLEX. JUST SIMPLE BUT WITH A SIDE OF FUN WITH THE FIRE BALL CAVE. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN THE FEEDBACK GIVEN AND ADDED COVER BELOW THE RED AND BLUE BASES WHERE THERE WAS WIDE OPEN SPACES. HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR DOWNLOADING AND HAVE FUN!!! FEEDBACK APPRECIATED
I have to say, this actually looks pretty cool. I think my only real problem is the openness of the bottom floor in the last pic. Maybe add a few LoS blockers along the bridges? I like the sense of fear you get about that kill ball... Overall, good map. +1 Download
I appreciate the comments. But how can someone say 'no kill ball' when you haven't played it, instead of going off pics? If the map sucks and there was more than 1 download of it, I would see anyone's point about location, kill balls, etc. But Thanks anyways
I love the idea of the kill ball. I've tryed to do something like that before but it dident work out too well. The kill ball is a perfect example of "something different". But thats no the onlything this map has going for it. The sideways doors with the glass in the middle is a great idea. and there are some things about simplistic layouts, i dont understand it but when i see a nice simple map like this it looks really fun.One thing i dont like is the open area under the base where there is the boxes and sandbags. Other than that the kill ball is awesome awesome awesome, lol. keep up the forging.
Cool. I'll go back to the drawing board to fix the open area. That seems to be the main concern. Any suggestions? Should it be rooms, blocks like in the map 'Hang em High'. Im open for anything
I would have to agree with southern at the moment, but i cant make make any real comment about the kill ball at the moment because i am away from my xbox and unable to look at the map. My main concern is that if someone with the flag is walking through the tunnel and the killball spawns on them then the flag will be stuck in the kill ball and players will not be able to get the flag which will then pause the games flow. another concern i have is with the machine gun turret because i find that they will cause camping and they are just to overpowering. overall this map looks pretty nice but i think you should make a V3 and in it you could maybe make the map more visually appealing by adding some aesthetics and cleaning up some of the block placement.
I'll continue to evaluate the turrets and block placement as I get more feedback. It just got updated so we'll see how it plays. As far as the kill ball. It runs down a slope and exits out the map through a drop whole. Through testing, I haven't yet encountered a problem with the flag or things getting stuck.
The flag inside a kill ball should either reset immediately or get stuck. If it's stuck, that's a problem, if it hasn't happened in testing, it doesn't mean there's not a problem. Try it yourself, just grab the flag and wait.
