    Feedback is welcome.​


    While looking for inspiration, I stumbled upon a certain forger's Google Sketchup designs and wanted to try to make one myself, thus came this map. It's a small map that goes in a circular motion while steadily increasing in height. If somebody wants it they can have it, but if not i'll just make it myself.

    Yellow: Lift​

    Green: Two-way teleporter set​

    Red: Two-way teleporter set​

    Blue: Water​

    I wouldn't mind working on this with you. Knowing me though I am going to try and alter some things. If you don't want to that's fine, but there's the offer.

    Looks like a mix between Ambiance and Aquaduct. The only thing that I'm seeing as a potential problem is the corner (back right, second pic). It looks like it's the highest point in the map and it's pretty far away from everything else and has pretty good cover.

    Everything else actually looks pretty solid and shouldn't be too much of a pain to forge. Good Luck!

    @Audience: Sure, I wouldn't mind co-forging. What were you thinking of altering?

    @Nibbs: Thank you. I actually took inspiration from a map called Luna. That is, the circular flow of it. I don't really see the resemble to Aquaduct though, other than the water. I imagined that area would be a problem since it is, like you said, the highest point in the map. It's one of the reasons why I tryed partially blocking it off from the rest of the map.

    Even though I told myself I wouldn't make a map made up of just 45 degree angles I did anyway, lol.

    I dont know all of it yet. I change things with my creations as I go. Can you get on forge now? Ive got a bit of time free.

    I definitely see the Ambiance Nibs is seein'. Which is by no means a bad thing.

    The red tele is very eh. You go to the bottom of the map which is very open to the top of the map whcih is veryyyyyy open. So if someone sees you go down there, you're done for no matter what route you take because if you can see the sender, you can see the receiver and vice versa.

    Overall, it's super open. It will feel even more so in person I'm afraid too. Easy fixes though.

    On a positive note, you've got the circling-elevating flow down and the jump over the water in the corner was a cool thing in Aqueduct (probably what Nibs was referring to) and will doubtlessly work well here. Good luck!

    The only bad thing I see is the corner to corner line-of-sights on the bottom two sides of the first picture. Other than that, it looks very solid. I especially like the design of the central-ish pit.

    I played around with some new tweaks on this design. I'll get online tonight and try to find you and show you. The version we drafted was just so open and I think this might help address that issue. Im also trying to eliminate the use of teleporters and add more pathways/jumps. Ill just show you later, basketcase.

    I miss the multi-quote button.

    @Erupt: Thanks. We're considering removing that tactical jump all together because it rises and could be difficult for a player to quickly get through it.

    @Ace: Thank you. I figured that area would be a problem. Usually the last part of the map I design is.

    @Frenchys: Sure, I'd love your input.

    @Audience: Cool, I'll be one around 5 today. I had some ideas I wanted to check with you about too.

    @Erupt That's why you put something extremely tempting directly in front of the lower teleporter. :)

    Man do I miss UT's map DM-Pressure with the room with the little pressure switch that you can press to pop the guy who try's to go for the goodies.

    I love a good do or die situation.

    This seems like this is going to turn out to be a good map. Nice layout of the map, and plus the pathways you can take. Such as the lifts and the two way teleporter sets. Also like how you have areas with water, makes it seem more colorful. Cant wait until you finish it.

    Don't see many sketch-ups round' here. I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished product. I really hope you guys do something special with the aesthetics. I'd really like to see a nice design like this get some nice aesthetic appeal to match.

    Im enjoying working on this with Basket. Right now we are just trying to figure out the exact layout and scale of things I think. I played around with the design today and shrunk some areas and modefied another. Also I have added some tactical jumps that don't exist in the sketchup. As for aesthetics we currently have a clean look, though its far from all pretties up. Im glad you all have gotten an interest in the map. Once Basket and I have something that works well We will probably put up some pictures. The noted open nature of the map should be all addressed now, and the tactical jumps added are making for more ways to move around. I'm personally also trying to not use teleporters. I find them disorienting- especially for new players. Any suggestions or comments are great- keep them coming. I hope to bring you all some hard results soon.

    Basketskate, I cant get online now, but im gonna' go back in to forge offline and see if I can make more maneuverability options and get that last area made (adjacent to removed death pit).

    Audience, I relocated the map and made some small changes that i'd like to show you sometime. You can also give me a better understanding of your symmetrical idea.

    Hot damn. I'll have to play this with you some time soon! I unfortunately (for this project) have gotten distracted by Mass Effect 3. I cant say much about it now though with only these images. I hope you kept my lifts. I love them. One of the few things I have ever made I can say that about. I'll choke you if you messed with those.
