They're a high-speed, high-possessions team. If they end up being 2 to our 1, we won't play them until four games into the bracket, which on their energy-expounding team would be an absolute drain. Doesn't matter how much they want it; if they are tired out, they stand no chance since speed is their only asset.
lol ODU sucks, and every one there sucks too. What does it mean on the top 25 list when it just lists a state with multiple teams from it?
Like, for instance, Virginia. They have ODU, VCU, GMU. Does this mean the state is collectively at position 24? Or is it just one college? I just watch some games so I'm not too familiar with how the rankings work or whatever.
Its a specific college. Usually if its just the state name then it is a state college or it is University of ____

Funny video...not to much in there specific to Duke though. I mean every team has its fans that paint themselves (Tarheels are no different, they just don't call them Carolina crazies or anything like that). If I remember right Tyler Hansbrough was a walking collection of constipation expressions. But, like I said it was a humorous video. I dub this upset friday. With Syracuse and Kansas both going down things should be very interesting come selection sunday. Luckily we didn't fall prey to the upset monster but we have to play better then we did today or it won't be pretty in our next few games.
Hey Shadow, when you come up with your brackets, let me know. Im gonna copy you and place my bracket on a bet where I work, lol.
Zombie why don't you join the forgehub bracket group ESPN - Tournament Challenge - ESPN's NCAA Men's Bracket Game - Group
Well selection Sunday has come and passed. Any comments about the seeding, who got in, or who got snubbed? I know I'm pissed Drexel got snubbed. First year in like a decade that only 1 CAA team is in the tourney. Also for anyone interested you can make a bracket for the tournament and play against other forgehub members. Also you could win a lot of money if you have the most accurate bracket. The link and password to the forgehub group is in the op.
Yeah, Drexel and Washington getting kicked, Iona getting in? Absolute crap. I am a fan of my teams path and matchups... but it seems that the more favored we are to win, the worse we do. My bet is that, if we survive long enough to play North Carolina, we easily make it to the Championship. The hardest games for us would be the round of 16 and the final itself. I think we had a far better resume than both NC and Michigan State, especially NC, since we were ranked higher AND lost to a higher-ranked team. NC is only the top seed because they thought that the conference tourneys didn't matter, and Kansas only is NOT because of a loss in the conference tourney, what the **** ever. However, I do agree that we SHOULD be where we are as a number 2, and I like our path better than I would've as the number 1! My thoughts on this years bracket, for anyone stumped/curious. I'd like to hear other peep's thoughts! I doubt there will be many upsets in the top ten. They are all on an equal level, which should be elevated above the rest of the teams. In the sixteen, there should be three 1s, three 2s, two 3s two 4s, and god knows who else. Other than Baylor, every team ranked between 3 and 10 is pretty much a toss-up. I have WVU beating both Gonzaga AND Ohio State, then losing. Look to them for an upset; they have a player would would've easily been PotY had WVU been winning, and most of their losses came by fewer than 5 points. Texas is in the same boat; I'd to them for upsets. K-State will win their first game, then lose to Syracuse... BARELY. Vanderbilt is overrated, Harvard is an amazing first-round team. Florida State VS Texas as a possible matchup, FSU wins that easily; FSU VS Cincy, Pick the 6. If Ohio State beats WVU, they are in the Final Four. Otherwise, its ANYONE BUT SYRACUSE. They haven't had to prove themselves this year, and will not make it. Kentucky will not win the Championship, sorry Shad0w, though that loss in the Final sets you up to be much scarier. UK will set records like none other on their way there, but then show obvious fatigue in the Final Four, where they will either lose to a deep ****ing Michigan State team, or slug it out with an equally-tired Mizzu, probably beating Mizzu. Memphis has a chance to beat that MSU team, by the way, because of a horrible Matchup. If MSU beats Memphis, they are in the Championship game. If they lose, then Kentucky beats Mizzu for the championship game. They are the top-seed most likely to lose this game. Davidson beats Louisville, easily, but cannot handle Murray State. This bracket is nice, and its worth wasting bids on upsets AS LONG AS you have Michigan over Mizzu, or MU over New Mexico (if Memphis takes down MSU). Kansas could lose to St Mary's, that would be a safe bet, otherwise, keep them going until NC. While I think that KU matches up brilliantly against NC (since Roy is a retarded coach late-season, and always finished second), NC is by far the team best set up to win the whole thing. They are deeper, more experienced, and have more heart-breaking losses. Always bet against SDSU, because they never win anything. This bracket is similar to the West bracket, where either the 1 or the 2 seed will make it to the final four, and it will depend on how a certain team plays in the second round. Final Four: Kentucky VS Michigan State Florida State VS North Carolina Chamionship: North Carolina VS Michigan State (If Kansas makes it to play NC, then Kansas will defeat FSU only to lose in the final, and Michigan State will win it. Depends on how much faith you have in Kansas against Mid-Major schools... as you can tell, I don't have a lot!)
All the upsets didn't matter. All they did was allow some bubble teams that no one thought would get in to get in. All the top 25 teams that lost were of course going to get an at large bid. Strength of schedule pisses me off, its not the other conferences fault if more prestigious schools aren't put on their schedule.
Yeah, thats fair, but what about the schools that run 20 wins every year without playing a single challenging team? The non-con is to schedule against those more difficult teams. For example, Iowa State could have easily had a 30-win-season if they were in the Sun Valley conference, but instead they had to the Mizzou and Kansas AND Baylor a total of SEVEN times. That is SEVEN games against teams that have been ranked AP top-10 almost all year, and have all been candidates for one of the top-seeds. That ends up being at least six losses for almost every team in our conference, not counting them playing against each other. The ACC is guaranteed to play Duke AND NC a total of at least four times, which more or less guarantees four losses on their schedules. And the Big Ten? Same position as the Big Twelve, with Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State all more-or-less forcing the other seven teams into AT LEAST six losses. Not to mention, they have to split six losses between themselves. Being in a conference where you are guaranteed to rack up 25 wins is nice, but only if those 25 wins come with a difficult Non-Con schedule. Its entirely feasible for a Mid-Major to schedule a game against someone else. Kansas, for instance, has a principle of always scheduling 2/3 of its Non-Con against Mid-Major schools. I know several other of the bluebloods do the same. The teams that got in that shouldn't? They were teams like Iona that managed to schedule those games... and LOSE them. If you lose to a power school, it should count the same as not playing them. Drexel should be in ahead of several of the Mids that got At-Large bids, and (most notably) a shitty Power school known as UCONN. Which isn't a problem of SoS coming into play, its a problem of SoS being used where it is not applicable.
My problem is, I dont follow or watch it at all. But I want to join the small bet since its only 5 bucks to get in and winner gets like 50 bucks. Reflex, you seem to know what you are talkin about, so I am gonnacopy you. So you better not fail me.
