Recently re-added custom game to file share! : MvM Assault

This map has been a real labor of love for me. I started it almost a year ago when I didn't even know how things like rotation snap worked. Since that day the goal has been to create an all out epic war. Each life on MvM should be looked at as campaign mission against 7-8 other people.

I wanted to have multiple battles going on all over the map. Some might be close range enclosed battles, some might be outdoor vehicle showdowns. But every one of them should have a very direct effect on the overall outcome of the war.

The bases look pretty impregnable, but I assure you that there are at least 5 good attack approaches for each. The idea is to coordinate an attack from two or three of these angles at once. If done properly, you should be almost unstoppable. Everyone will want a headset, and I would strongly suggest watching the walkthrough video before playing.

Video: Monitor VS Merrimack - YouTube

    Red Team
    - Take Warthog(s) to the two submerged bridges in front of Blue base.
    - Take Warthog(s) to Skywalk and take the Skywalk to the Banshee on Pillar
    - Take Warthog(s) to Skywalk and take the Skywalk to the Teleporter on Pillar
    - Take Mongoose(s) on top of the Box to the Falcon in Alaska (Jump, off-road, bridge)
    - Take Teleporter on top of the Box to the Island tunnel and collect the Spartan Laser. (Support)

    Blue Team
    - Take Banshee/Falcon to the open slot in the bottom front of the Box, walk in.
    - Take Banshee/Falcon to the landing pad on top of the Bio Dome.
    - Take Banshee/Falcon to the small ground level door (Alley between Dome and Box.)
    - Take Teleporter by Plate/Flag Dish to Canyon cave and collect the Plasma Launcher.
    - Take Banshee/Falcon to the small construction hole on top of the Bio Dome. (Support)
    - Take Banshee/Falcon, or Teleporter to the Canyon then walk through the side cave.

MvM is not a pretty map. (Picasso style) I just couldn't bring myself to tear down all the original buildings and start from scratch. You are going to find some 87 degree corners, some uneven floors, and a few cracks in the walls here and there.

Just so you're aware, you can no longer have this map tested by the Tester's Guild now that you've posted it as a finished map here in the database.
Of course, there's no guarantee that it would have been tested at all, but I found it unusual you only waited three days before posting instead of the usual two weeks to see if the map would be tested.

Yea I know, I just got impatient. It is a personality flaw. I did the same thing with The Pool map I made. I understand the rules though. I will put in a map and wait it out eventually. I'm sure you guys are good.

It's Monitor Merrimack because one base's defenses are based on armor, and the other's are based on on inaccessibility.

It looks really interesting but... is it balanced? It doesn't really seem like it would be.
Also, I don't see why you had to use all of forge world. That's gonna make it really hard to get around without vehicles. It seems like the gameplay would be really slow.
The Blood Gulch area works great for 8v8. Using the whole forge world, even with the maximum amount of players in the game, just seems... too open. I dunno. Maybe I'm wrong.

This map looks like it can easily be broken, I like the idea of having different arenas i guess you would say. I think the spawn system would be broken as well, unless its a one life type thing, but then players would be stuck in different places around forgeworld. it also looks really sloppy, in the end, I like the idea just doesn't look executed well.

This is the first map that I ever made. It is sloppy. I admit that in the description. It certainly isn't perfect, but I wanted to publish it because I spent a ton of time making sure it had evenly matched the bases, meticulously positioned spawn points, a vehicle/teleporter system to move around the map quickly, and all the proper weapons... It will work if you have the players.

    Side note:

This is kinda sad, but I never got to test this other map http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/137067-pool.html with other people. I did a lot of two controllers, one hand each, but no real people.. It has been downloaded quite a few times now (650), so it must have turned out pretty decent, and there must be some people out there playing it. I would really love to play a full game on the map and see what it is actually like.

If you want to get a game in on there some time this week please let me know. Also if you have played on the map, and could tell me how it was, that would be cool too. Thanks.
