This is the new updated map. Special Thxs to THEF and Forgehub!!! You Guys Rock!!! Thanks for the feedback and hopefully I fixed all the problems. Old Version:
This map looks very cool and I'm happy to see all the nice aesthetics worked in. You do a good job of making it look and feel like a fortress. The broken front gate is a particularly nice touch. I've never been a huge fan of color effects but purple can do the job in certain cases such as this one. Gameplay will have to be determined in future testing. At the moment it would seem that the base is a bit too powerful given the height advantage on the walls and some long sightlines that you would get from being on the crane piece. I do look forward to seeing how it plays out and maybe working with you to get this featured. Perhaps talk to Remkings on this site as his group runs infection lobbies pretty often. Best of luck. -Oakley HiDef
No need for, I am already doing my own research. Indeed this map looks absolutely interesting, and I would love to check it out with a full lobby. The aesthetics look great, especially the gate, and the weapon respawn times sound balanced (maybe a little longer for the magnum as it can be very effective when getting headshots). Also, removing the motion sensor, adding the dark special fx and accelerating the zombie re-spawn time will probably make it a lot scarier - and by that more attractive - to play on this map. Usually you want to stay away from using a sniper nest in infection in their natural use as they tend to support more camping. Also, but that's just a personal taste, they seem to look awkward and contrast with most other constructions. I agree with Oakley, as far as I can tell from the screenshots the base looks a bit overpowered, as well as the crane. But that's what testing is for, to tweak little things like that and see if how things play. If you want this map to end up in BIOC you should check us out, and join our social group on ForgeHub. There are two ways you can submit your map, just read the FAQ and you'll probably understand how to submit it properly. Finally, you can also sign up for our first round of BIOC until next Friday, when the deadline will have been reached (!). Submitting your map will give you the right of getting it played as long as you attend at the lobby yourself (for any further details just read the text). So as long as you show up yourself at the lobby that will test your map, we guarantee you that it will be tested. Still not convinced? I read you wanted to thank THFE. Like Oakley said, this map could be featured on his channel in the future when the gameplay is perfected. BIOC offers you a place to get it tested by Infection fans and to receive feedback directly in the chat, so it will be much easier for you to get your map better after testing games. And since BIOC is partnered with THFE, I can debrief Oakley when I think your map is that good that they should consider featuring it. Think about it, and let me know.
Thank you guys, love yalls work and yes I would love to work with you guys and get the map featured once you guys perfected it. The wall and the crane would be a disadvantage but i made it to where the zombies can jump high enough to get you if your to close to the edge including the crane part and if you do get on the crane you cant get back, you have to drop down. Just fix whatever needs to be done, i dont mind at all and ill sign up with BIOC.
This map definately does have the infection feel and look to it, but If I think you should look into changing some piece use. I'm mostly looking at the walkway large use, I love the gate you've added but I feel the walkways could be changed to other pieces. I think some block pieces for flooring mixed with brace large and bridge mediums could create a more aesthetically pleasing Wall, and you could add a second entrance to the base on the left side as well. I do agree the sniper tower doesnt really fit the map, and itd probably be better to build the base itself from scratch instead of using the prefabs. If you want a more human look, take a combination of 2x4s and 1x1 tall thins and use them instead of the more forerunner appearing blocks. As always brace larges could work for the bases walls mixed with some other pieces for aesthetic quality. I like the theme of the map and I think itd be great to see you develope it further, I'm sure Remking and other infection lovers will help you with anything you need .
Thanks Silent but it sucks to hear that you dont like the walls, I really like the walls and probably wont mess with that, sry but ill take out the sniping tower for everyone if it doesnt work out in the testing and there is an entrance on the left side, they just have to jump on the building block and then hop on the wall, plus the corner piece by climbing the rock so theres a total of 4 ways.. that i know of and i have it to where they respawn everywhere outside the gate so you really cant be sure which way there coming plus 3 sec respawn starting with 4 infected right outside gate and they can move fast without the sprint. The gametype has to be laststand for all this to work. Thanks for the feedback.
