Saw this on YouTube earlier. Very simple and well directed IMO.

    Oh dear that fake voice...
You could have just used your normal voice and drawn the same effect.

I disagree. I tried using my normal voice and it came off extremely monotone. Having a channel where I constantly provide commentary has let my subscribers come to learn my voice and recognize it. If I were to use my voice, the cinematic would not nearly be as convincing. I was not in the position to get a voice actor for such a small part - I figured I would use a fake voice.

It wasn't that bad actually. And as he says below, his normal voice is horrendously monotone. lol

As for the direction, I'll have to type up my comments later because I forgot what most of them were. But the main issue is the predictability of the zombie being behind you because you never once glanced over there.

I realize you did it yourself and another controller alone, but it didn't work too well. Also, since he was hiding out, it would've made more sense if he were either in a better spot or looking around frantically from the spot he was in, in the video.

What I mean by better spot is, either one where you have a wide view of everything, as that would be where smart people would flock to in such a situation, or in the corner where he only has one angle to look at.

Sarge makes some good points, after all, he does have lots of machinima experience. But I think it's good for what it is, a simple teaser of your map. His suggestions would have been apropriate had this of been a video that you really were trying to put 110%, but it's likely not. You obviously put thought into this, but I doubt it was something you totally worked your ass off for. That being said, I think you went in just the right direction here. Good job.

Yeah, I still need to finish something. lol.

And yeah it's only a teaser, but he wouldn't have put it in a forum if he wasn't looking for commentary, but I did like it.

Thank you! Obviously if this was going to be more cinematic and have more of a story I would have changed a lot of things. I would have had a second person over to operate the other controller, I would have changed his position and the way he was looking around - however it is only a teaser and I only wanted to show a very small glimpse of the map as it was the main goal of making this.

However, thanks for the comments everyone, its nice to get some actual feedback and constructive criticisms

Oh and Sarge, my voice is not THAT monotone anymore ;) I've worked on it quite a bit, I know I said it was in this thread but thats really only when I'm reading lines - as for live commentary and whatnot it has actually improved quite a bit.
