The Observatory *NOW AN OFFICIAL MAP IN THE BIOC INFECTION MAP DATABASE* (Bloodthirst: Infection Only Customs) Overview A small clean map designed for quick rounds of Alpha Zombies. Also plays well as a 1v1 or 2v2. I built it on the beach near paradiso and used sand for some of the flooring. There are weapons on the map, but I suggest switching your Alpha Zombies gametype to where survivors can pick up weapons. As for theme, the map is supposed to be an old collapsed observatory. I gave it kind of an orange color scheme. Download if you want a fun map for infection. I really like the 17th picture, a view to outside, where you see the crashed falcons. and it looks like an very very good map overall, the pond at picture three is also very creative =) DL + 1
This map looks great, I love the aesthetics binoculars they really help with them but I do think some of the vehicles look awkward like they were just place there not like they were abandoned. I like how you in cooperated the secret ledges to help improve gameplay. One thing I am not a big fan of is the little pool of water, I mean it does look awesome but it doesn't seem to connect with the theme and looks like it could interfere with gameplay. Overall I'd say this is a nice map and I will give it a try on customs before I post more. Edit.* Incorporated (Stupid spell check >:l )
The pond of water doesn't disrupt gameplay. I put a grid over top of the water but I covered up the ugly gridlines. So it looks like an aquarium of some sort but you can walk 100% smoothly over it. It's a neat trick. Grid + 2 door, doubles + water (or background rocks) = aquarium.
The aesthetics of this map look amazing, I can't tell about gameplay yet but even though I am a little concerned about the amount of power weapons I think there's a chance that this could become a returning map in BIOC.
I love the aesthetics on this. They are so smooth and simple. It looks almost like a high end 1v1 map. From the pictures it looks like a room to room based map, which works great for infection. The little flecks of detail will be sure to keep players interested and may even cost them their lives This is going to be played in my own lobby for the first round of BIOC and I can't wait to play it!
Hey, thank you very much for using my map in BIOC. Really was getting frustrated with making infection maps with no recognition. I'll be signing up right away. I really hope I don't miss the chance to get in the lobby for my own map! lol
Yes the aesthetics are amazing and perfectly match the theme. I love how it actually looks like a real place thats been like abandoned or something and not just another slayer map. It has character, so to speak. 1. the vehicles look great. its a really good idea, which also helps me in a map i am planning on making 2. the ledges are great. they remind of the vent at the top in sword base, which is the greatest camp spot 3. the pool is awesome. i love water in maps. it makes it seem like it was placed with a purpose, or like you put more work into the fine details of it to make it perfect. 4. i love how it looks like its caving in. it actually feels like a real place thats been abandoned for awhile 5. i love infection, but 343 totally ruined it, replacing good maps with community-made crap that just took out all the good spots, making it impossible to get any killstreak. Plus, the actual infection (where the zombies have evade) is a load of poop. zombies win every time
You know what the weird thing is, we met randomly on XBL way before BIOC and maybe even before I knew you on FH. and now we both ended up being in the staff. small world.
