Hi, I am currently working on, I guess you could say a semi-symetrical map on the "The Pit" level. I have most of the design layed out and have got a few switches in. This map is made mainly for Multi-CTF.

I could really use some info. on making a great balanced weapon placement. Just some tips on what types of weapons to use and like were they should be.

If you can help, please reply.

I would say one close range power wep in the middle, two snipes on each side, a rocket/laser in middle, a couple BRs on both sides, 1 needler per side, 2 smgs per side, 5 ARs per side, 4 plasmas 4 spikes and 6 frags per side, and thats all i could think of

Hmmm...I have the snipes on both sides, Br's and smgs's done, but for the rocket/laser and short range power weapon (shotgun) in the middle all at once is a bit unfair for any one who goes straight to them. don't cha' think? i need a way to make it all evened.

The only thing I could really tell you about weapon placement, without seeing the map, is that DO NOT over do the power weapons. Also, if your planning on having only one of something (Even though this you said it's a symmetrical map) let both teams have an equal chance at getting it, or an equal chance to get a similar weapon.

With the snipers on the map, it's probably good to stick with the shotgun as a power weapon, as a rocket lancher in enemy hands would give them the ability to anihilate a carrier and his escorts with one shot. Like Monkeyman said, lots of mid-range weapons like the BR are ideal. Maybe add a brute shot to one side, and a needler to the other, for variety.
